This is by far the best video ever posted on GerritsenBeach.net as well as youtube!
Victoria’s beach block party was a staple of the community for a while. Although we are not quite sure how many years it ran for. I’m sure someone will comment below.
Video Description
Back in 1997 the Beacon Court band played in Gerritsen Beach Brooklyn. Bobby Esposito on sax, Vinny Ferrara on drums, John Vetere on bass, Irwin Kahn on lead guitar and Scott Tuchband on rhythm guitar.
Since Benny of Victorias Pizzeria (2716 Gerritsen Ave)has been back he has been changing up the place, first starting with the menu, and he has future plans to renovate the place.
Most Notably Benny is introducing “Gourmet Pizza” which can be only ordered as a pie only.
With the new menu all of the prices have gone up from .25 to a few dollars for the pies. Prices did go up awhile ago but at least now you can see them on a printed menu.
Large Round is $13
Small Square is $16
Large Square (24)$30
White Pie is $14
On a side note, it seems like Victorias is very late to join the Gourmet Pizza bandwagon, it might be a good thing but it might not be. When I think Victorias I think good Brooklyn squares, I don’t want to see their existing pizza suffer. I do understand that they need to compete with Knapp Street Pizza but Knapp offers “slices” of their gourmet pizza, ordering a pie is taking a chance you might not like it.
Its also worth noting that their new menu “says” they accept credit cards now, which is a relief whenever I tried to use it before I was told “it no work” :)
The time has come to show the world Victorias Pizza.
Victorias Pizza has been serving pizza to the Gerritsen Beach community since 1962. Victorias has since been a staple of the community, hosting: beach block party’s with sand on the sidewalks, the Gerritsen Beach Little League and donating time and money back to the community.
Other than that they serve up the best pizza. We know we might be a little bias because we live here, but we have tried alot of pizza in our time. The squares are simply the best around.
You cant walk into Victoria’s without getting something.
I think its a rule.
So I picked up a baby square (6 Squares)with fresh garlic .
