A Ton of Dirt on a Car
![]() |
Its never a good thing when a ton of dirt is on top of your car.
According to witnesses T&T Industry was hauling away a full dumpster filled with topsoil on Burnett street, when the dumpster emptied onto the street and onto a parked car.
Workers were frantically trying to cleanup the mess with shovels and a bobcat. They were blocking traffic while the bobcat was in the middle of the street which delayed the traffic. However it didn’t look like there was any major damage to the car, but I didn’t stick around, so I could be wrong.
They definitely did not like me taking pictures as one of them asked me to take a picture of something that I would need a microscope to see. Oh! Zing!

Memories: 1951 Gypsy Town?
![]() |
I stumbled across this 1951 aerial shot of Gerritsen Beach. What the hell is that in the soccer fields? Is that a gypsy town?
Look at the park in the upper left, that looks interesting. Does anyone know what this is or have any pictures of this?

No Human Being Would Stack Monitors Like This
[Behind Mandee's on Avenue U and Nostrand Avenue. In the Duane Reade parking lot.]
There had to be about a 1,000 old school CRT monitors in this tremendous mound. You could totally climb to the top and feel safe, whoever stacked these stacked them so they were all solid.
As Dr. Venkman would say: “No human being would stack books monitors like this.”

Carl Kruger and his War on Gadgets
Apparently Carl Kruger our NY State Senator wants to ban “the use of gadgets” while crossing the street, resulting in a fine of $100.
We checked his website and it hasent been updated since July 2005. While thats really funny its also relevant to the topic at hand. How can Carl Kruger who obviously doesn’t understand “gadgets” or keeping an updated web site want to ban the use of it while crossing a street? Doesn’t that it make make him seem like hes out of touch with technology?
Carl, Its ok that technology has surpassed your means to understand it. Get over it. Everyone does. However, that doesn’t give you the right to try and ban behavior.
Carl were sorry, We at GerritsenBeach.net feel really bad for calling you “out of touch ” so we will volunteer to fix your VCR clock that is still blinking 12:00. We will even take the time to introduce you to DVD’s. Heck, we will even show you this new thing called the internet and how the internet works.
Don’t you have better things to do? Go back to fighting dollar vans.
We are going to call our other state senator (Martin Golden)for his opinion.

Exec’s Nightie Shift
How is is the news always finds the worst shot of someone?
November 1, 2006 — A top Verizon executive repeatedly reached out and touched himself in front of a female employee while dressed in women’s lingerie, court papers charge.
Cheryll Harrell, 53, says that over a three-year period, Robert Esposito, 60, told her about his “lingerie fetish,” and then showed his lingerie - and more - to her.

When is a spot “your spot”?
Long Answer: Unless you live on a block with 3-5 houses it’s not your spot. Even then it’s not your spot. If someone is parked there park elsewhere.
I’ve been hearing of this happening in both sections. This rule applies to everyone. People leave notes on cars not to park in “their spot”. That’s crazy. People who leave notes are like Mr. Wilson from Dennis the menace.
DON”T BICKER with your neighbors about whose spot is whose. Its crap. For instance, recently a family moved in on my block, they have two cars which threw off the daily parking scheme. People were leaving notes on their cars not to park where they were parking. No matter where they parked they received notes.
Does that make that family welcome? Don’t they have a right to park wherever? Even if it was just a single man or woman doesn’t he have the same right?
So, park wherever you want.
