Via WebCivil Supreme

The family of Frank Solivan is suing Patrick Donovan in Kings Civil Supreme court over the accident that killed Frank Solivan on May 24th. Patrick was the other vehicle involved in the accident.

The trial begins 01/09/2009 and here is some more details.

Last year, The Solivan family was sued for negligence and wrongful-death, after Frank Solivan allegedly punched out Antonios “Tony” Fasarakis, killing him. Solivan initially was charged with misdemeanor assault, but the case against him was dismissed in December after Queens prosecutors declined to pursue the case.

Frank Solivan Memorial: One Year Later

Sunday, May 25th 2008

Frank Solivan, who was killed exactly a year ago in a motorcycle crash, has a memorial right at Gerritsen and Everett avenues

The memorial was completely overgrown and in disarray for most of the year but was cleaned up the day before, Saturday May 24th, for the Sunday with larger group.

The crowd was there for a few hours (11/12pm - 3pm) and nothing too serious happened, just the typical double, triple and at times quadruple parking.

The 61st precinct, did come by, they briefly talked to some in the crowd, I guess everything was in order because they left. However they would roll by every few minutes, until the crowd dispersed.

I wasn’t a big fan of how they ended their brief stay on Gerritsen Avenue. Somehow, I don’t think honoring your friend with dangerous driving and burnouts, makes any sense. When he died doing the same thing.

via NY Post

The estate of a 19-year- old Queens man who died last year after being punched out by a nightclub bouncer is suing the club, its owner and the security company that hired the bouncer - who himself was killed recently in a motorcycle accident on Gerritsen Avenue.

Two weeks later, Fasarakis’ estate filed suit in Queens Supreme Court seeking unspecified damages from Solivan’s estate, one of Club Soma’s purported owners, James Orsaris, another unidentified owner, and Solivan’s employer, Styles Security Executive Protection.

A well written response in reaction to the memorial on Gerritsen Avenue

On this post (Update: Memorial for the Fatal Accident on Gerritsen Ave) someone has written a response to the memorial on Gerritsen Avenue that I feel deserves the spotlight. I agree with the commentary and think its worth it for others in the community to read.

Update: Fatal Accident on Gerritsen Ave

Francisco Solivan, The man who died on Gerritsen Avenue Made news last year by slugging a patron at Club Soma in Astoria, Queens, in the face. He was arrested for manslaughter after the victim, Antonios Fasarakis, 19, died, but the case was later dismissed.

This has got to end…before someone else gets hurt

With the death of Frank Solivan on Gerritsen Avenue recently, there has been a tremendous gathering of people at the memorial site. It would be impossible to guess on actually how many people are there on a nightly basis, it is alot. Over this last week there has been a line of double parked cars and sometimes triple parked cars from Everette to almost Florence. Someone is going to get hurt. People are making U-Turns at high speeds there, people are pulling out of the blocks, people are speeding, not to mention there will be inehbriated people getting out of the bars at night. A fight could break out with the bar crowd and the Memorial crowd. On a comment on Update: Memorial for the Fatal Accident on Gerritsen Ave, this person was actually cursed at, being told to “just keep F@#$!%*! going.” We did see a 61st precient patrol car on site around 10:45pm, but we didn’t stick around considering our luck with the crowd. The memorial has also grown more considerably since our last picture.
