Please Stop Tearing up The Fields

[jwplayer mediaid=”9192″]

Resurrection Sports is asking for our help from our neighborhood, to help stop the constant tearing up of OUR fields.

Compared to previous years, this year it seems there has been no enforcement from the 61 precinct, 63 precinct or parks police. Every day there are dirt bikes tearing through the streets. Every weekend there are dozens tearing up the soccer fields making them unusable.

I need Help, This is to anyone who knows the kids who ride the Motor Cycles up the fields, can you please tell them to stop riding on the dirt Flds all 3 of them are getting wrecked. Resurrection Softball uses those fields from now through June. Please stop doing donuts- and digging holes in the dirt.. as of now they are not playable and have to be redone by the Parks Dept.. Thanks- John Fox

Theres alot of hills and dips back there maybe they can make a dirt bike atv trail back there with the enterance on burnette street away from the soccer fields. The kids deserve to have thier fields playable.

  • Anonymous

Ban them ALL! Arrest them, confiscate the ATV’s and dirtbikes. They have no place on city streets or in parkland.

    • Anonymous

I agree! Unfortunately once these kids ride into the back weeds the police are unable to keep up or follow. The police should have at least two dirt bikes on hand to chase them down and arrest them and confiscate the bikes. And while they’re at it, add two more charges…resisting arrest and endangering the life of a police officer.

  • Tity bar

    Nice videos

  • MO

Thinking about buying a dirt bike now. Nice place to ride .no cops paradise. Thanks for the idea GB.net

  • M

Its because these kids have no resepect for anything but themselves

    • Anonymous

That’s not true M. If they had respect for themselves they would respect other people and property.

  • a good neighbor

is that withing marine park past the nature center?

  • Anonymous

On one of the vids above you can see where one of them lives… so why no one can go to the precinct show these videos so that they can go to that kids house and issue warning to his parents about his actions and confiscate dirt-bike?

  • Flow

Worried about dirt bikes? Really? Gerritsen Beach is pathetic. All a bunch of drunk, drugged hypocrites. “Adults” bugging out about kids trying to have fun. Oh man riding a bunch of dirt bikes in the fields. Maybe if you guys were smart you’d do something back weeds instead of having a nature trail. Ain’t no nature back there, but stray cats, raccoons, & bums. Worry about more important things, like drunk people all over the place. I seen an “Adult” drunk from the Beach Bar or Bantry walking and hitting peoples car mirrors, like really? This site is fucking bullshit. Nigguh bring back you’re camera and comments and go else where dukes. Pointless arguments your starting. Not the kids nor the teens are the problem. It’s everyone in this neighborhood. Mainly the “Adults.” None of yous have respect for yourself or others. Grow up.

    • Anonymous

Once again another moron who does not stick to the topic at hand. People getting drunk, taking drugs, bums in the weeds? Sounds like almost every area of the globe to me. Those problems are not just inherent of GB and are not the subject here. As for bugging out about kids trying to have fun, you’re damn right we’re bugging out! Those kids are having THEIR fun at the expense of other people. Destroying the soccer and ball fields! What about the kids that like to play there and have THEIR fun. Oh! that’s right, they can’t because the fields are in too much disrepair because of the dirt bag bikers. And after reading your post i’m sure you haven’t even considered all the hours the volunteers have put in or the cost for upkeep for the fields. People plan all winter and work hard in the spring to ensure the fields are in good shape for the season. But that all gets destroyed in one or two weekends because as YOU put it “kids are trying to have fun” I hope you have a garden, it would serve you right if some kids stomped on it and tore up all your flowers and bushes just so they could have fun.

  • Justin Donovan

dam, just let the kids ride! would u rather them ride or break the bus windows, they need an interest in life instead of smokin pot like all gb parent used to do

    • Flow

Thank you. People are sad here. Either dirt bike or use of drugs or alcohol just like the rest of these burn outs here.

      • Anonymous

Wow Flow, you’re right! I can’t ride my dirt bike and get my rush that way so I might as well do drugs or alcohol. Guess I shouldn’t try out for teams or play ball with my friends in the park. Can I come to your house and play? Seems like your kids get everything they want because you can’t say no to them!

    • Anonymous

Let the kids ride on the TRAILS not on the FIELDS!!!! There are little kids that play on those feilds… There is absolutely no reason for them to wreck the fields

    • Anonymous

So, what your saying Justin is just let these kids have their way and ride their bikes (which is also illegal) or they’ll turn to drugs because they have nothing better to do. I’m sad for you! I’m not condoning what they do but give them more credit than that. Now, if their such trail junkies on their bikes they should get together and try to form an oranization and and work with the parks department to designate that area for dirt bikes. It would benefit them and be safer for everyone.

  • The honey "bees"

Whoever said Michelle is a moron is being quite nice!I guess she doesn’t care if one of our kids get seriously hurt on these fields with a ball.it’s hard to believe she has kids.I say you are a pathetic soul.and to think there are kids up there that you supposedly care about.what a shame to have a human being like you in this world if that’s what they call people like you!

    • Anonymous

Thank you honey bees, that would be me. I don’t like to be too crude on here. As for Michelle..don’t know her…don’t want to know her. She sounds like the type of mother that tells her kids to go out and play just so she can watch her soaps and drink her gin.

  • Anonymous

So where are the parents of these kids that ride their bikes and destroy the fields? The law states that parents are responsible for their kids actions as long as they’re minors. The parents should be made to make restitution!

  • Joe

U guys make a big deal out of nothing kids will be kids and have fun

  • Viva la resistance

It isn’t nothing when other kids want to enjoy their time doing something other than basking in the glow of hillbilly heaven, on obnoxious, illegal dirt bikes. There are plenty of trials to destroy back there but obviously you morons are not content with that. You’d prefer to destroy at someone else’s expense. You twits point fingers at drunks/addicts etc? From some of the names I’ve seen on this board it is YOUR parents who are the drunks/addicts or you’d have been raised better.

But why should other kids learn the values from youth sports so you can tear up the fields? This way all of the kids down here can grow up to be greasy, white trash, dirt bikers that all of you have become. Don’t thank me, thank your drunk/addict parents.

As far as the 61 is concerned, the past Community affairs officer’s response, at a Property owners meeting a year or two ago said regarding the issue,”it’s kids from this community..” Implying that crimes committed by locals are the the responsibility of the community. Nice to know that the 61 is now endorsing vigilante justice.

This an issue that we are stuck with until pressure is put on the parents of these dirt bags.

  • anomous

ok half the teenage kids in gb are pot heads at the park so why are u trying to punish the dirt bikers just ask them to stay to the back of the fields off the clay instead of trying to lock them up.

    • john fox

Isn’t that what I asked? My original post was to ask the kids to stop riding on the dirt fields and if anyone knows them please ask them to stop.

  • Anonymous

look i ride to……We only go across the fields to get to the trails……We stay in the back weeds…What would u rather us do ride the dirt bikes and try to become something in the super cross/Motocross or do drugs hang out on the streets and vandalize every ones shit chose one…..Its not like we ride on the streets we r 15-16 trying to become something in life that we like this is our hobby just like people fly those stupid plains we ride dirt bikes its our hobby we are not bothering anyone…we don’t bother you..you don’t bother us

    • GerritsenBeach.net

I do want to chime in on this one. For years the consensus has been you dont bother us we don’t bother you. However, the riding in the soccer fileds is now mainstream and becoming a problem with people who actually use the field.

Your going to tell the rest of us – who see the dozens of bikers going back and forth that we are seeing things?

      It needs to end.

    • john fox

OH ok so my post wasn’t for you since you are just riding through to the back. My post is to the kids who ever they may be that ARE riding on the fields causing very dangerous conditions for the girls and who ever else uses them. If you do know the kids who are doing it please tell them to stop because its going to effect all of you, even the ones who are not riding on the fields.. Thanks

    • Viva la resistance

The point being is that you do bother us. Flying remote control airplanes isn’t illegal nor destroys the soccer/softball fields. Your dirt bikes do. Actually as bad a the underage drinking and drug abuse is, those vices aren’t as intrusive and the dirt bikes.

What really troubles me is the common alternative from these morons is, “it’s either dirt bikes or drugs.” How pathetic it is that those are the only ways you rejects an fathom to spend your time. I guess something constructive never dawned on you.

There are places where such things are legal and land is set aside for what you do. Go there.

  • uncle richie

everyone needs to stop posting videos about my cousin if they have something to say to him everyone knows who iam come talk to me like an adult about it

    • old section

Not for nothing but the dumbass posted his own video using a helmet cam. Once he puts it on the internet its fair game. SO why don’t you be a responsible family member and tell him to keep off the fields and stop incriminating himself through his own stupidity. From my youth playing at All American and GB Little League I watched the same people every year take time from there own lives to fix up both fields that were destroyed by our own community. For years I watched coaches chase after them to get off the field especially when practice or game was being played. Ironically it was the same asshole then that is doing it now with his own little one on the bike with him. Two many people died through out the years on Gerritsen and in the Weeds. Bad enough we have our own community out there doing it next thing you know we have every element from outside the community doing the same because every weekend they park there trailers on lois and gerritsen when the weather gets warm. There illegal for a reason in the city thank you for setting an example to friends and family especially the community of gerritsen beach for your ignorance. yea I have to drive 100 miles to ride my quad upstate or out of state but least I am giving the respect to my community and riding where it should be.

  • john fox

I will say again my original post was to the kids or anyone who knows them, I don’t know who is doing it. Richie if you do please tell them to stay off the fields they really are destroying them. and I will say this again, I don’t think they realize the damage they are doing. All the other stuff is what happens on message boards.

  • balls and weiners

my last thing to say would you rather your kids be sorunded by dirtbikes or kids who rob and do drugs??? cause i know if i had kids i would fuckin buy them dirtbikes if it kept em away from some of this shit going on

  • Anonymous

Balls and Weiners, funny name considering you don’t have any. Leave Fox alone. He has dedicated years to the Sports Association. The guys should have a place to ride HOWEVER, the softball fields, soccer fields, Pony League, Little League, the sidewalks and public streets SHOULD NOT BE THE PLACE!!!!!!! You are a true moron and this proves that you idiots can not be spoken to. Not eve nicely. The brains of a pea have no comprehension. That’s a big word, look it up.

  • Dom

Hey John, I’m a rider back there, and I’ve only seen a few kids go on the dirt once or twice while I wa there and I told them not too, when we ride we go to the back edge of the fields to crack wheelies or else we are on the trails, I’ll try and relay the message about the dirt to te younger riders alright John?

Now to the rest of you, all of you have really big mouths hiding behind keyboards with anonymous names… all of you calling us jerkoffs and dirt bags. Especially you viva la resistance, your words really have impact when you can even have your name shown.

I ride in the weeds all the time. Every weekend as a matter of fact, usually more. And I’m not a kid. And I love the fact thT you think it’s mostly kids up there and call them jerk offs and names like that. Some model adult you are.

So like I said, John I’ll relay that message, and viva resistance and all you other anonymous keyboard cowards, you wanna say something to us and say something real? You know where to find us.

And Michelle, you got it it I’ll crack a wheelie for ya, thank for the support!

    • john fox

      Thanks Dom,
That’s all I was asking. Thanks again

    • Viva la resistance

Yeah we’ll catch up back there for sure Dom. You can count on it.

    • Abel Magwitch

I don’t know what’s worse Dom, children riding dirt bikes in the weeds or adults riding dirt bikes in the weeds. Take a look in a mirror before you question another adult. You’re the crimal here. You see guy, it isn’t about what you think or even what you want. It’s about the law. And you’re in the wrong. I’d bet if someone ruined your little bike trails you’d be as upset as these parents who have seen their fields torn up. Let’s put the shoe on the other foot. It seems just a mention of cracking down on you guys has already hit a nerve. Try some ketchup with that crow, it will go down easier. Judging from the thumbs/up thumbs down ratings on this board, no one really wants you guys back there. Take a hint.

  • Anonymous

So now the bikers are chiming in and unsuccessfully I might add. No matter how they try to condone what they’re doing, they are still breaking the law. Try using your energy in a positive and constructive way. Work with the 61, the community, the parks department and try to get the back weeds designated as a legal dirt bike trail. Go to the dmv to legalize your bikes. It may take some time but you have nothing to lose by trying. Your only other alternative is to keep butting heads on here and getting nowhere. Also, other benefits would include an entrance into the weeds for dirt bikes, safety crews in case someone was to get hurt, and if a biker does go off the trails and tear up the fields, their bike can be reported, confiscated and the rider fined and his license revoked. I’m sure the community would have no problem with this, we want you to have your hobby and have fun, but we want it done safely and legally.

    • Anonymous

I have a problem with it. There is no place for the bikes back there. Anyone who thinks “there is nothing back there” knows nothing about it. That is the largest piece of parkland in Brooklyn, much bigger than Prospect Park. It is home to wildlife and a nesting ground for many species of birds. It’s disgusting to see the gas and oil running into Broad Creek and Gerritsen Creek, destroying what was once a beautiful wetland. It should be restored under the Federal Wetlands Act and protected from the ignorant. Just because the Police refuse to stop them, or can’t seem to stop them is no reason to just give it up to the hoodlums on ATV’s.

  • Dom

Abel, In no way did I say it was cool for people to tear up the baseball diamonds, if you re-read, I said I would try an stop that . At the anonymous, legalizing wont happen, and who’s to say our bikes aren’t legal? Mine is. And also, right now alot of you are complaining about us few locals who ride there, but suggest that we should have it become a legal riding area and have 100s come from all over to ride? We don’t want that either. So like I said, I’ll try and keep riders off the diamonds, but we will still be on the trails doing what we love. Oh viva you got it bro.

    • Anonymous

Dom, your bike may be registered as a dirt bike and legal to ride on designated courses, but it’s still illegal to ride on the streets (which many do) and in the weeds. As for your comment that legalizing won’t happen, it sure won’t if everyone has an attitude like yours. You also don’t want it legalized because as you say “100’s will come from all over to ride”. You just want your own private playground even if it means breaking the law. You can’t pick and choose which laws you’re going to obey but you do have the power to change them.

    • Abel Magwitch

Dom seeing as how you are the only pro-rider who posts that can actually write complete sentences with punctuation and debate points I’ll appeal to you. Maybe you can do me the favor and translate what I write to the rest of these guys.

Your frustration is directed at the wrong people. Instead of getting upset at the outraged parents, direct that anger at the few riders back there who ignited this issue. Look at any topical map of the back weeds and you’ll see what small a portion is manicured for athletic fields. Isn’t enough that you guys get to destroy the larger portion of the area riding around on the trials as it is? Is is really that much to ask that you guys stay off that small sliver of fields? We aren’t asking for ourselves but for our children. That is the source of the anger and rage against you guys. We will leave it to you to police your own as we don’t make any distinction from one biker to the next. If it is just a few rotten apples destroying the fields then it is they who you should be upset with. Take it out on them. If they didn’t destroy the fields we wouldn’t be having this debate.

    • Anonymous

      Dom,

I respect what you are trying to do any acting as a good role model for the rest of the young riders.

However, it seems that over the years more younger riders have entered the area and particularly “outsiders” have entered the area as well.

I remember it clearly because the “outsiders” used to ride up and down the grass and would purposely tear up the field leaving behind HUGE fucking craters and dead spots everywhere.

I also particularly remember the younger riders from the community whom I recognize because every time I’m back there fishing and minding my own business, someone ALWAYS has to come by, rev their bikes and dump sand on me UNPROVOKED(yes I was covered head to toe in sand/mud/grime). Its a particularly young kid and I’ve seen it happen to others.

But listen Dom, there will always be people who want to over-regulate things and cause more minor inconveniences until we live in a truly police society. However, IF only the younger riders out there RESPECTED the unique opportunity presented to us here by this great piece of play area; they are only creating problems not just for everyone, but for themselves as well down the road cause lets face it. Eventually within our lifetimes, Gerritsen beach will most likely fall under protection and be designated OFF Limits to everyone but “Nature Observers”.

Lets just do what we can now and enforce the point that we’re going to eventually lose this area and the time it takes to do that is the negativity that sprouts from such reckless and stupid moves.

  • Anonymous

It was Tuesday, April 17th. It was warm in Brooklyn. People were out walking in the park, some walking dogs, some playing on the fields. Others decided to ride their dirt bikes causing damage to those fields. When they do, I go to work, I carry a badge. Dum-De-Dum-Dum….Dum-Dum-Dum-Dummmmmmmm.

to the disrespectful punks who are destroying the fields, if you only knew about how the old beach crew love there sports, you would think twice about destroying ball fields, restrooms, etc, theold beach crew would find outwho did itand take matters in their own way. sports was very big then. one good talking would stop this nonsense. thank you the real beach crew.9(daleys, londis, devines, tumblesons, sullivans, elefteratis, mccormicks, barones smith, brandows, people who were cops, fireman back then would never allow this to happen. thank you

  • eddie

i submiited a earlier response to the punks who are destroying the fields. i forgot to mention city workers, people who just love the outdoors would never tolereate this b.s. back then.g.b. had there own unwritten laws. i wish these punks would meet the old beach crew who loved sports. this never would have happened then. softball-gather inn vs judges-what a rivalry pratically everyone would come out and watch their games. to the punks if you only knew what would happen if you try to destroy property back then go destroy your house or lawn thank you eddie. too many cops fireman back then would never allow this., the crew daleys, devines, sullivans, londis, kellys, barones, smiths, elefteratis, brandows, tumblesons, lachance, mannings, thankyou eddie

    • eddie

t agree with, just imagine those punks ruining the football fields the huskies played on and one of the players tore ther knee or any serious injuries. those players coaches would of found out who those punks were. back then g.b. didnnot toleratethese morons or disrespectful ways. men were men back then. they taught there children to play all sports without dirtbags destroying properties, punk-detroy your houswe or lawn. the beach was the best back than all sports, activities fireman cops citysanitation workers who lived in the beach would never take that crap from these punks. the crew daleys devines, mccormicks, barones, lachance, mannings, elefteratis, platis, sullivans, chandlers, brandows, thank you eddie

  • Stupid white people

this kid on the dirtbike is 10000 times more talented than all you alcoholics anyways. So why dont you tough guys try to come at him he will pop a wheelie right on your face

    • Anonymous

Well, at least your name fits you! The only way you know how to debate the topic is to call people alcoholics. You have no clue what the issues are at hand here. If he popped a wheelie in my face i’d pick him and the bike up and slam them both in the street.

    • Viva la resistance

About two years ago two guys on quads wanted to have a race down the beach by the point. They were side by side and the tide was up. There was only room across the narrowed beach for the two quads, nothing more. They were all ready to go until I walked into their path. They waved me over so I flipped them the bird and held the line. When I reached where they were waiting I walked up along side the outer of the two quads I stopped, gave a “what’s up” nod and waited. They both put their heads down. Yeah, pop a wheelie huh? Doubtfull.

      • Anonymous

Good for you Viva! What those two guys didn’t realize is that when the tide is up the sand becomes very soft even though it looks dry. BTW did they eventually race? You most likely saved one or both from serious injury.

        • Viva la resistance

They did race but not until my dog and I were done doing walking by. If these kids insist on riding back there then they need to adopt the same model as boat pilots: The smaller craft and people have the right of way. The ball field issue aside the riders need to respect those of us who prefer to walk back there on the trails as well.

A previous poster mentioned the wildlife but I think that will be a lost cause on these kids. Sadly not only are these kids most likely destroying wildlife on the trails but on the shore as well. Horseshoe Crabs lay their eggs on the shore line are one of the oldest living species on the planet. They predate anything in the Museum of Natural History and are undergoing massive loss in numbers as it is. Their eggs also provide valuable nutrition for migrating birds that fly up and down the coast.

          • Beachwalker

Viva, we are kindred spirits! Yes, sadly, they are destroying wildlife on the trails, something that is apparently out of site – out of mind for many people here. They assume that there is no harm in the people, kids and adults, who dirt bike back weeds. No one wants them riding on the Ave, the sidewalks, and of course not tearing up the fields. Everyone says,’let them ride back weeds’. But they are doing terrible damage back there as well. In the spring they ride on the shore and INTENTIONALLY crush the horseshoe crabs layings eggs. It is sad for them and also for the shore birds that depend on them for food. The American Knot, a seabird with one of the longest migrations, an astounding 9000 miles from South America to the Arctic breeding grounds is in sharp decline directly related to the sharp decline in horseshoe crabs. Just sad that an animal that has been in existence for 450 million years, unchanged for 360 million years having reached evolutionary perfection is going to be done in by overfishing for bait and by a bunch of ignorant jerks on dirt bikes. And take with it many species of birds and fish. And that is just one example of the damage that is being done. Pheasants, rabbits, and all the other life back there is being done in by these riders.

  • Anonymous

I’ve been reading all the hidden post and to those people I say this: You are all clueless! There’s a reason your post are hidden, you have no idea of the severity of the situation nor do you make any valid points in defense for anyone destroying the fields or riding illegal bikes. You all say let them have their fun, it’s either dirt bikes or drugs and alcohol, they’re not hurting anyone, pop a wheelie for me, and so on. So far Dom is the only one that has a grip on the situation and is willing to talk to the ones responsible for damaging the fields. For that I commend him. Now i have seen the video’s and tell me if i’m wrong. Does anyone see a license plate on those bikes? I may be missing it. I also have a question for Dom. Do you condone this kid? Riding on the sidewalks, up and down curbs, and on the wrong side of the streets?

  • Bergen Beach Resident

Gerritsen fields are the not the only fields being used, Bergen Beach fields are also. As a citizen of the USA and as a tax payer of NY if my kid wants to ride his dirt bike in the weeds so be it, i pay for him to go back there, its not private property, you all need to relax its not even that serious. GRASS GROWS BACK. I understand if it was private property then you all would of had something to complain about if it was coming out of your pockets for the damages to be fixed but guess what? ITS NOT!!! Its the cities responsibility to fix everything every spring. I can proudly say as a parent my kids are not a drunk or a druggie wasting his life away doing those things like probably half of gerritsen beach kids are anyway, hes a college student who likes to ride dirt bikes when he comes home from college. SO STOP COMPLAINING & BEING CRY BABIES AND GET OVER IT.

    • Abel Magwitch

If I wanted to talk about Bergen Beach I’d be on their webpage. Off road vehicles are illegal so there is nothing to get over. Being a tax payer doesn’t give you carte blanche to break the law. I was walking those trails back there before dirt bikes so don’t tell me what to do. And again it is really sad that a dirk bike is the only thing you have for your children to do other than drugs. I doubt you can name half the kids in this neighborhood. Maybe focus on getting your own son out of your basement first.

    • Anonymous

To Bergen Beach Resident, For every dollar you pay in taxes, only $.04 cents goes to upkeep for the parks. And just because you’re a U.S. citezen and pay taxes doesn’t give you or your kid the right to ride a dirt bike illegally in any park! It may not be private property, but it is a wildlife preserve. All the noise, fumes, and oil leaks into the soil destroy that preserve. Ever see grass grow back in an oil and gas soaked soil? I haven’t. And the damage that’s caused by YOUR kid does come out of our pockets..and your’s. If the parks department just had to trim the grass and prune some bushes and trees our taxes would be lower. Unfortunately they have to clean up oil and gas spills from the soil and re-sod it costing us all money. As for being the cities resposibility, the city relies on volunteers to help keep that parks in good shape for our childern to play in and have a good time. By saying it’s the cities resposibility you’re passing the buck (litterally). Seems to me you want to take advantage of gaps, sit back and say “I got away with it”. Our great grand children may not know waht a preserve is or have the chance to enjoy it because of people like you! Guess they might have to read it in books or see it in old movies.

P.S. I’m happy you pay for your college kid to play. Don’t you think he’s old enough to pay for his own fun?

to Bergen Beach resident are you for real, “Its the cities responsibility to fix everything every spring.” what the hell are you stupid? It is also your responsibility that your children do not destroy city property or any one elses property. How would you like it if the city csme knocking on your door and asked you to pay for the damage? Don’t tell me you agree that you children can ruin baseball fields that othrer children play on and could get hurt on because your child created a rut in the playing field. Tell me, would you want your child playing in a place he or she could be hurt by someone’s stupidity?

I believe it was the first video where one of the bikers goes down Florence, one of the bikers lives right in that house on the corner. I personally have no problem with them as long as they stay off the fields and keep to the back. I think that is also the way the majority of the Beach feels.

  • Now what

Looks like it’s time for some clothes to be strung across at certain locations, that will get them off their bikes real quick.

    • crazy

Can I ask not only are dirt bikes going on our fields but I noticed cars drive through the gate heading for the airplane fields.
Since when are any vehicles at all allowed into our fields or onto that airplace field. Where is the parks dept ?

It is very sad that a mother can post such disturbing things . When I saw that comment pop a wheelie, boys will be boys I thought this person must be like 15. To find out she is mother makes me think she has mental issues. Bless her children for there mother is a Moron. Children spraining there ankles getting hurt. We put our children in soccer sports to keep them away from the bad like alcohol and drugs. Then she lives here and has nothing nice to say about her neighbors. If you don’t like G.B then move away! There is plenty of room back weeds for bikers to ride all that is being said is too stop destroying the field so our children , nieces, nephews, family is safe.

  • Concerned Mother

For those that want this problem fixed, I thought you would like to know that I have reached out to several government officials asking for their help, including:
Community Board 15 President Teresa Scavo, Councilman Michael Nelson, NYC Parks Deputy Inspector for Parks Enforcement Patrol Edwin Rodriguez, and Borough President Marty Markowitz.
Hopefully one or all of them will reach out and do something and make the fields safer for our children.
The loudest voices are the ones that are heard.
If you want to be heard too, send these folks a message as well. Look them up on the 311 website for email addresses.

    • Concerned Mother

*********** Community Board 15 Chairperson Theresa Scavo has responded first. She noted this has been a problem addressed by the 63rd precinct in the past and she will be contacting them again on our behalf to have it addressed.

Michelle, you are a amoron! They’re asking these kids to stop tearing up the fields with their dirt bag bikes and all you can say is “pop a wheelie for me guys”. Just from looking at the video’s I can’t imagine how many laws they’re breaking. Riding in grass area’s where people walk their dogs, on sidewalks while people are walking, on and off curbs, wrong side of the street and so on! Dirt bikes are illegal on city streets. If they were to designate the back weeds for dirt bike trails, it would have to be done legally. This means your bike would have to be secured on a hitch until you reach the trails. I have read what people call you on these post and i’m being kind when I call you a moron!

  • Anonymous

Are you trying to say its ok for them to wreck the fields that the LITTLE kids play on???? If so you are disgusting!!!

  • john fox

my post was actually respectful, asking basically the kids and anyone who knows them to stop tearing up the fields. Girls are going to get hurt. I practiced on field 2 and its really ripped apart.. If you actually know some of the kids..please ask them to stay off the dirt fields, I just think they don’t realize the damage they are causing and how its effecting the girls. The fields are not playable right now for games, the holes and donut trails are so deep the girls are going to twist or even break an ankle..The parks dept is redoing the fields tomorrow which is an amazing thing to happen.. Thank you Parks commissioner and Lew Fidler

  • Anonymous

    Who said that?

  • The Honey "Bees"

    very disgusting!

  • Viva la resistance

Well we’re asking now and it doesn’t seem like any of you clowns are listening. And WHO is being selfish? Those who want to destroy the fields that many children use when you would have been left alone if you had stuck to the trails? John sacrifices his own time as do many parents to maintain those fields for the benefit of our children and WE are being selfish? Get your head out of your tailpipe. It sounds to me like the only thing you care about is doing whatever you like. Your bikes are a big damned problem when people want to walk their dogs through the trails and almost get run down by you jerk offs.

  • tom

you are so right eddie these punks would never have a chance down south ther fields are immaculate dirt bags bikers would try it once the police would get involved and charge you with tresspassing destroying public property etc,the parents news, would raise helluntil it stopped. the kids down south ride nowhere by the fields or destroy bathrooms, you will get locked up down south to the punks who hide there face behind helmets your a coward. keep popping wheelies a death will occur.what goes around -comes around peace to all cops down south they dont cater to punks speed traps, unmarked vehicles, atvs, would scare you punks from destroying properety, the law is the law

  • Anonymous

ROFL! Yeah, the law is the law down south. No corruption there! I wish all these wanna be yahoos on the dirtbikes would move there with you ‘tom’. Then maybe we could have some peace here.

  • Abel Magwitch

Tom if these kids knew how many kids from earlier generations have already lost their lives on those machines, kids that I knew growing up, they’d think twice before popping wheelies or any such thing. It’s only a matter of time before another roadside memorial is erected.

Once again another stupid comment by Michelle! She’s either really stupid, out of touch, drunk, or it’s her boys tearing up the fields. Then again it could just be she likes to make stupid comments just to irk people. Mechelle is a perfect example of what happens when you don’t finish high school and go to college. She just never grew up! She’s more immature than the kids we’re talking about on here. Finish your gin Michelle and go hang out with boys in the back weeds!

  • Town Crier

Actually the 63rd handles all calls on the east side of Gerritsen Ave and 61 the west, so correct me if I’m wrong but I think when it comes to the fields it would be the 63rd.

  • Anonymous

First you say pop a wheelie for me then you say let boys be boys.. now you’re saying you’re going to flag them down and stop them…Make up your mind, are you for it or against it?

  • crazy

a vehicle is still destroying property ball fiels, you freaking moron michelle chidren playing sports are precious michelle you couldnot have the courage to even pepper spray a fly peace crazy g.b. lifer

  • Anonymous

Michelle, that’s the only thing you ever said on here that’s right! Dirt bikes are illegal on the streets. However, the rest of your post was just as stupid as all your others. The weeds are not a desigated bike trail and it’s illegal to ride back there too! So go sit on a bike, rev it up and have your first orgasim in years!

  • carbine

to honey bees she is not a psycho michelle, let that dirt bag michelle servein iraq 4tours i did talk is cheap michelle a wannabe gangster she couldnot even kill a rat with her bear hands. rats snakes are crawling all over you in iraq and much more to all military stay strong peace, and make g.b. proude

Your’re right Town Crier! Gerritsen Avenue is split right down the middle. Residential is handled by 61, parks is handled by 63.

  • frakinkie c.

to john fox you are doing a hell of a job helping out children with bsports , activities, i know you brother timmy very well tim knows i would take out all bikerswith no problem i have read the comments about these dirt bags destroying the fields bathrooms, grafitti, this moron michelle sticking up for these muts who are discouraging children from playing sports and most of showing the children we bikers will do as we please. keep up the good work john when we played if a biker trt to intimidate any of us game is stopped we would find out where they are thank you john

  • Anonymous

Thank you so much carbine for protecting our way of life. God bless you. BTW didn’t you like snapping a rats neck, gutting it, burning the hair off and cooking it? Doesn’t taste too bad!

  • carbine

to anonymous, yes i enjoyed eating the rats, parts of the snakes etc, you get use to it,i get many flash backs from the past, g.b. was great then to live, i read these post, seen the dirtbags bikers video what a dam shame, i could only picturs this in my mind a child today puts on there uniform to play baseball or whatever the sport is and the game is cancelled or delayed because the fields are torn up or a child might get up if there are any real g.b. residents start a petition call the news where is senator golden. all military past and present fought and died for there country to protect and serve our rights as a u.s. citizen but most of all our land. to the bikers go to hell………………….peace let your children enjoy and have a lifetime memory to pass onto there children by playing sports or any activities the beach has to offer.,get a life michelle…….bravo company

  • Irish Kevin

Mcihelle does have a good point. Maybe the Dirt Bags who are tearing up the Fields should go out tonight for a ride and a long overdue Bath.

  • john fox

:) thanks Frankie.. I just asked the boys not to ride on the fields.. the soft clay cannot take the pounding the bikes do to them.. and I cant fix them everytime they get ripped up..

  • Anonymous

Lets get a rope. You stand on one side of the avenue and i’ll stand on the other side. When she rides up we’ll clothesline her!
