did the car hit the house ? or did the telephone pole block/slow it down ?

Looks to me it was car verses fence and tree and the car won, but more importantly, was anyone hurt

Some jack ass going to fast as usual in this neighborhood, hit the pole and then the pole collapsed onto the fence and then the tree. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets killed with these morons zipping up and down the avenue all day.

While I was taking driving lessons in a car marked student driver, two rocket scientists decided to do figure 8’s around me at speed. But stupid kids become stupid adults. And stupid adults are a serious liability

hopefully no one was hurt, if i owned corner property, i would have put a few cement/steel 3′ poles behind the fence to protect my house.

Did the driver get charged or arrested? Or was it “just an accident”?

  • annonymous

does anyone know what caused the accident?

I was there at the end of the accident. Some big black truck hit the pole and went into the yard. I just saw the police writing everything up. There were two tow trucks but only one car. Looked like a drunk driver, but no one was arrested

Living on a Corner on Gerritsen Avenue is like playing Russian roulette.

  • passerby

I drove by shortly after it happend. PD put a guy in the car in cuffs…assuming DWI. Were it not for the tree, the truck would have ended up in the house….
