Kings Plaza Diner Being Stripped to the Bone

photo 2 (2)

The recently closed Kings Plaza Diner recently held an auction where everything was sold off to the highest bidder.

Looks like they sold everything, right now all of the sheet metal is being torn off and piled together.

So what's the next best diner? We were disappointed by the Floridian and El Greco.

Try Fivo's on Flatbush Avenue & Quentin.

I don't know myself. That part of Americana is vanishing fast. There were diners that I used to drop into when we went to Harriman park for walks. They have disappeared also. If you wanted to stop for a burger or coffee, it was always the diners that would supply them with a smile. Nowadays it's the Dunkin Donuts, the McDonald's, and the other big box fast food chains. These places are not set up to socialize. They are for eat, and get out! Thank you for coming. Please come again for some more of the same.

It is an absolute shame that businesses that have been around for many years are closing down. Most businesses cannot afford the rent or their other bills, most people cannot afford to patronize these establishments as much as they used to. What people do not realize is that this is why unemployment is on the rise. If businesses keep closing down there will be no where for people to work thus putting the burden on the unemployment system and in some cases the welfare system, which will raise taxes for those that still have jobs. Eventually those people will not be able to afford to live here and may be forced to move to a state where the cost of living is less with hopes of getting a job. Seriously am I wrong? and am I the only one that sees this?

For a nice diner try Kouros Bay Diner on Nostrand Ave & Ave Z. It 's the same people that had The Foursome on Avenue U.

I agree Kouros is probably the best remaining around here, but the manager of Kings Plaza diner told me they would be reopening somewhere not too far away

KPD will be opening again in a few months. The site that the diner is on now will be becoming cvs and the diner will be moving where ballys and rock bottom were on flatbush by where the q35 bus stop is. The owners of KPD own 2 diners in queens if you want you an go out there till the new KPD opens.

kpd will reopen, it was probably cheaper to move than renovate
