Why call it anything other than what the person saw? He saw people with turban's doing cement work big deal. There are Russians contractors, Indian contractors, Jewish contractors all here in Brooklyn why would that be surprising or have to be explained further?

And to Anonymous, I agree that there are contractors of all backgronds and it's not a big deal. But why did it matter that they had Turbans? Would you point out if they wore pony tails or brown socks?
I am far frm P-C, but it diminishes an argument when race has anything to do with it. I can't stand when I hear about a minority group shouting about persecution or that I'm "The Man," because I'm white. So why give the opportunity?
And for the record, it would have been nice to see a Gerritsen Beach contractor doing the work here, but I'm not renting the store.

I agree with Fred Perry…what difference does it make who is doing the work and what they are wearing….cant they just be contractors. It is so unnecessary to use these adjectives… If someone from the "beach" rented the store than perhaps they would have used a GB contractors…I say perhaps!
what is more inmportant is what type of store it will be..or if it will even be rented…and an updated store certainly looks better than all the closed stores on the avenue…and the eyesores that the "Bambos" own on the ave..and they DO live here…A lot of work was being done on the corner store at Everett and Gerritsen but no indication of what wil be there either…

There has been people working in there for months not construction work that was finished long ago, it looks like an office, if it were a pediatrician I believe they would have been seeing patients by now .. btw the people I have seen going in apparently are russian judging from the language I heard them speaking , I have seen them come and go in a BMW, looks like some type of office but when they come and go they to lock up, so apparently there are no customers going or coming.

Who cares what they sell. AS long as its clean, doesn't smell like cat, has nice people working there instead of the snots in that stink hole they call New Dutch. Cant wait for a decent store besides Brenmans to buy cold cuts that dont have cat hairs all over it and bread half eaten by rats. hopefully the new store wont be a rip off like the thievesin that shithole.
