Today I stumbled across an accident scene at Allen and Dictum where someone got hit by a car – or so I thought.
There were three people (2 Male, 1 Female) who said they were walking from “Ova Der” [meaning from Knapp Street] and “playin’” in the street at Dictum when a car coming down Allen hit the woman. A friend of the pedestrian who was struck said “this n_____ [the motorist] tried to slow down three times and I tried to tell her to get out the way but – he hit the girl in da leg.”
The motorist claimed that they immediately wanted money instead of calling 911; the motorist was uncomfortable with that and did not hesitate to call 911.
After she was checked out by EMS and refused a hospital trip, I asked the overtly limping woman if she was alright and why she and her friends were playing in the street. She replied “You know what Mister, these streets are just too small”. “We weren’t playing we were just walking”.
The whole thing didn’t smell right, especially since a few moments later she was walking briskly down Gerritsen Avenue looking for her friends who left her at the scene.
Granted Allen Avenue can be a dangerous avenue when people are speeding, but here is the moral of the story. If you’re involved in an accident call 911, it’s the easiest thing to do and it will protect you from unscrupulous characters trying to shake you down for cash.

And can you beleive that Allen Ave. was at one time a two way street ? Until a beachite, on a motorcycle, and without a helmet on,went through the windshield of a Taxi cab, in a head on collission, and lived to laugh about it… They don't make "em like that anymore.

Should have posted a pic of the trio so we can keep an eye out..all we need is to have curb jumpers (cons were an individual jumps in front of a or hits moving vehicle in order to make a quick buck) running around the neighborhood

Same thing happened to me in Manhattan. While backing up the car into a parking spot a noticed a man go behind my car. I stopped immediately and looking out my mirror noticed that he banged my car with his hand and fell to the floor. I put the car into park, got out and asked him politely to move out of my parking spot. He started screaming that I hit him. After arguing a minute or two about me NOT hitting him, he refused to get up. It was then that I told him "stay there, because now I'm going to get back into my car and if I was going to get blamed for hitting him, I was going to do it". You never saw someone run so fast! The hot dog vender across the street came over to shake my hand. He said "lady that was the best thing I've seen in my life….you can't believe how many times he's tried that before".

At least the driver was smart enough to handle the situation properly. Good for him/her.

Why a picture a city ems ambulance, I think anyone who reads know what they look like. Why not picture of before and after, the limping and then the none limping.
My money is on that this may not be over for the motorist.

She refused aid. Hopefully that will be the end of it. If they tried to get an insurance company to pay off their claim would be treated with suspicion. That is, if they even had possession of such information.

The girl was a neighborhood kid…the boys were more then likely not. About an hour later, they were all seen RUNNING down Gerritsen Ave by the motorist. And FRAN, THAT'S HYSTERICAL!!!
