Is Angela Almighty going to still be there? If so, we will not be returning. There are much more welcoming places to send all my kids where they will not be punished, put down, belittled and berated and excluded for "the chosen few". But thanks for passing on the information! We will be taking our children where Christianity is not just preached, but practiced also.

Maybe, just maybe, if everybody followed the rules, she would not be the way she is. Also, what the hell do you mean by chosen few? All the teachers are volunteers. They were not hand picked. They signed up. They went to hours and hours of training to get certified. Do you think they are teachers because Angela "called" them?? Don't thing so. Did you ever sign up for anything? I seriuosly doubt it, no matter how much you toot your own horn!!! Some people just aren't happy unless they complain and talk about others. If your not interested, don't even post. The Diocese of Brooklyn has implemented a traing program for all people who teach religious education in the Diocese.
It entails classwork and ongoing formation.

This is not true. Each CCD Teacher not only has to have Virtus training but has to have 50 hours of religion classes and on going training after this. All this and we are all only volunteers.

You absolutely need to be certified. It's a CCD certification through a program. The hours vary but its sometimes around 40 hours of training depending on the program.

if you don't like the program, don't use it. go to good Shepard, mary queen of heaven, or saint marks.
but there is a certification process that instructors go through and it has nothing to do with protecting the church, it deals with trying to teach and instruct young children and the knowledge if the church that the instructor has.
but to rant and rave does nothing. you should ether get involved or use a different parish

I signed my daughter up this morning, the process was easy and I was very happy with everything. It seems to me that this church has quite a few people who dislike it but every time I deal with anyone here I get nothing but good service and meet wonderful people.

the comments have gotten ridicules. Some people are child molesters, some people can not cut the cord, some people are completely unqualified. if people don't want to send their child to resurection then don't send them. but don't attack people who volunteer their time.
