Anne Marie Corrado was born on January 20, 1969 to Arthur and Jean Olsen, and grew up in the Gerritsen Beach section of Brooklyn and has lived there for most of her life,
Anne Marie graduated from John Dewey High School and went on to attend Brooklyn College, and throughout college, she worked part time in an auto parts store to pay for her tuition and was designated the recipient of the Frances Goodman Memorial Scholarship in her junior year; and
After graduating from Brooklyn College with honors, Mrs. Corrado went to work in her alma mater, Public School 277, where she has taught for the past 19 years, and Mrs. Corrado was a classroom teacher for 14 years and is currently serving as the Math Staff Developer and Data Specialist at the school, and;
During her tenure at the school, she has also helped launch P.S. 277’s after-school drama program, and to date, she has co-produced thirteen plays and happily devotes all of her lunch periods to honing the acting skills of her students, and it should be known that one of her greatest joys is knowing that many of her former students have gone on to pursue drama and beyond; and
Anne Marie Corrado is happily married to her husband, Steven, a chef, and together they have raised three beautiful children, James, Nicholas, and Oliva, and they currently reside in the Gerritsen Beach; and now, therefore, be it

One of my favorite teachers. I forget and still call her Ms. Olsen when I see her… oops. More teachers should have this type of connection to the communities they serve.
