B&B Liquor Store in Transition

DSC_2364

In November 2006 we excitedly reported that the liquor store had reopened after “turks” liquor store had closed. Now B&B Liquor has officially closed after three years in operation, sad.

Colleen Donnery co-owner:

Hey, just want to thank all my friends and family for their support with the Liquor Store over the past 2 1/2 years. B & B will be closing on Nov 30th. My partners want out and we have been trying to sell for over a year. A great business to have but way too hard to do it by ourselves. Have a deal in the works but e…ither way, our license is up 11/30. Raise your glass, La Heim, Mazol Tov!!!!

Hey, just wanted to let everybody know that B & B Wine & Liquors has been officially sold.  The new owners will be there on Monday.  We will be helping them out with their new delivery of stock.  The old familiar faces will still be working there during the day and Rob and I will be helping them as much as they need us to.  I want to thank all who patronized the store and hope that you continue to do so. We are very sad to be leaving but it’s time to move on.  The name will remain the same.  Thanks again.  Colleen Donnery

Good luck, loved the folks who worked there, always polite and helpful, hope the new people are the same. Don’t seem to keep the same owners at that place.

Already met new owners. Two young guys, seem very nice and friendly.
I happened to come in when they were receiving the inventory on Monday, and was told that more inventory is coming next few weeks.
Good luck to them, I’ll be coming for my Smirnoff again!!!

    Hello:

My name is Yuri and along with my partner Michael, we are the new owners of B&B Wine and Liquor.

First we want to thank Colleen, Rob and Bobby for making this a very smooth transaction and all their help. They are trully wonderful people.

Second, I would like to welcome everyone back to the store. Even though we are in the process of restocking the shelves to make sure there is something for everyone, we did get alot of stuff in on Monday and are ready to serve the Gerritsen Beach community.

Please come and visit us, we will be happy to serve you.

I hope you will carry the carlo rossi chardonnay as most of of the liquor stores around here do not carry it and this was the only place I could find it. Most places only have the rhine and chablis but the chardonay is delicious. Just a suggestion. Good luck with your new venture

@terry, Full line of Carlo Rossi is in (both 1.5L and 4L bottles). We are not looking to change anything about the store, we are even keeping the name the same. We are, however, expanding the selection and will be selling gift baskets and bottle accessories as well.

Are you willing to accept suggestions? If so, I have a few:

Foxhorn (full line). Very reasonably priced wine. All varieties are good, but the blend of Pinot and Chardonnay is great.

Cupcake (full line). Again, very reasonably priced.

Geyser Peak Sauv. Blanc: Happens to be a favorite of mine :-)

Yuri, Mike, good luck. You have big shoes to fill. The previous owners were great people. As a business owner myself, I have some suggestions for you. Greet everyone who walks in your store. Make eye contact. Hi, how are you. Can I help you with anything. Make them know that you care that they took the time to choose your store to walk into. Be friendly and warm. That doesn’t cost you a thing. Don’t stand there surfing on the computer while they walk around your store. Look alive, if they stay long, move around and ask them if they need help. Make suggestions. Read up on your stock and know what you are speaking about. I know you guys are Russian, no predjudice comments here please but…..a big but…..don’t speak Russian in front of the people. They will automatically get the wrong impression and think you are talking about them. This will be a quick way to lose business. Good luck to you!

@Anon, Gee, it’s a liquor store in GB, all you have to do is open up and u will have a lot of customers. Speak Russian, surf, just stand there, if I am coming in for a bottle I will walk out with one.

    Hello:
I just wanted to let everyone know that more stock is coming in on Monday and the store will be stocked for the holidays. We also have a New Year’s Raffle going on. The winner will be drawn on December 31st at 1pm and we have 4 prizes to give away. Please come in or call us for details.

Also, we are now making gift baskets for any occasions, including Christmas, Birthdays, Retirement, Baby Shower, and more.

Please come in and see us. We would love to meet the neighbors and find out what you would like for us to carry. Let us know what your favorite drink and we will do our best to get it in.

    Looking forward to serving you.
