A few weeks ago on a Saturday, the New York City Parks Department planted trees extending the existing tree line closer to PS 277.
It was a Brooklyn special event, that failed to mention the event effectively to the community. The event was part of the MillionTreesNYC that promised to plant 20,000 trees across 10 sites:
- Bronx
- Pelham Bay Park: Orchard Beach
- Van Cortlandt Park: Shandler Woods
- Brooklyn
- Gateway NRA:Floyd Bennet Field
- Marine Park *
- Queens
- Alley Pond Park *
- Norton Basin Natural Resource Area (Bayswater)
- Staten Island
- Ocean Breeze Park *
- Clove Lakes Park
- Father Macris Park
- Wolfe’s Pond Park
