Walls Go Up At Walgreens Site

At the former site of the foursome diner, walls have gone up for what is going to be walgreens.

    Finally. It will be nice to have a bright & clean establishment on that corner. It has been a dark, desolate spot at night on that corner for many years.

    I’m hoping they are 24×7, all the supermarkets (Pathmark/Stop & Shop) have cut back on that.

    It probably won’t be. At any rate Walgreen’s carries only a modest amount of food items.

    Anybody know why the block next to it on U, that used to be Hy Friedman and a video store and a parking lot, is still vacant after all these years? Its creepy.

      @Lizi, Believe it or not, that building presently houses an active business. It is an eyeglass manufacturing company. They use the rear of the building to come & go. That is why the front looks abandoned and closed. I’m not sure about the two end stores, Hy Friedman & the vidoe store, but the building in between, the old furniture store, is where the eyeglass factory is.
