For a good amount of time (1-2 hours) one of the nypd aviation unit helicopters, were chasing multiple dirtbikes up and down back weeds. As well as multiple police cars flying up and down gerritsen avenue.
This afternoon happened to be crowded on the Avenue and there were about three baseball games who were constantly being buzzed by the chopper
all three of the games gerritsen avenue also had a good amount of police cars.
No word on arrest, but some or all of the dirtbikes were seen being taken away, by police.
No arrest were made..And it was one bike with one rider bein chased..They got the bile, but the rider was never caught..Quite some skill displayed by the chopper pilot I must say. At one point he was no more tahn 10 feet above the tree line

i was riding all day they didnt catch me wtf i wasnt on the run one bit either i saw the helicopter but i didnt think it was looking for me or my minions i dont see whats the big deal were not hurting anyone but ourselves and we arent killing animals only weeds and dirt and grass i mean there are cars worse for the enviornment these days

@poppajoe, have fun peeling me off the floor or carrying me out of the weeds because i either died with a smile on my face or fell and broke something with a smile on my face. we have these things called helmets and pads they are fairly new they protect you when you fall. as long as i have my helmet, gloves, chest protector, neck stabalizer, kidney belt, boots and leg guards you want see me in an ambulance for a long ass time. and with advances in modern science and my nice level income who knows how safer it can get for me. and now im thinking about riding up every block in the beach with the engine on my dirtbike cranking with no silencer on the pipe fucking jerkoffs

At the time I am reading this blog I am listening to motorcycles racing up and down the avenue. Now its not too bad at 11:00 p.m. but try listening to this at 2 am…..where are the cops to slow them down???? Everyone has the right to ride the bikes but no one has the right to be so inconsiderate!

These kids racing up and down the avenue have caused the deaths of other people. That kid was racing up and down the avenue on a death wish Also, running from the police was a crime in itself when he didn’t care if he killed someone crossing the street or possibly a driver of a car…only to ruin the lives of families forever. The avenue was loaded with people strolling and enjoying the nice day. Imagine if he lost control?
I’m glad they got him and hope that he doesn’t get to ride a dirtbike ever again.

To all those who responded to my entry…..thank you for just proving my point, I could not have done a better job of showing just how stupid and backwards most of you are. How many more people have to die in Gerritsen Beach due to a Motorized Vechicle? How many more neighbors have to watch families suffer from there loss because someone got nailed on the avenue or backweeds.
I can’t blame the kids that are doing it but I do point the finger at the parents that allow it.
The same parents that allow there child to ride these bikes that would and will cause a shit stir with the NYPD “why didn’t they do something to prevent my child from being injured or killed.” How easy it is to start point fingers when the issue really starts at home.

Old Section…… You talk as if the people riding these dirt bikes are small children, or medium sized children for that matter. They aren’t children. They are adults. Many in their 20′s and older. The one who engaged the cops in that chase is about 25. One of the worst offenders is over 30 and NYFD. What should his mother do, spank him? Right now I am listening to cars screeching up and down the avenue it is 9:50 @ night , so where are the helicopters now ??? t
To tell you the truth I am wondering why our taxpayers money is being spent on fuel to send up a helicopter for over an hour to find kids in the back weeds on dirt bikes when they should use the money to have a car patrol the beach expecially on friday and Saturday nights when it is dangerous to cross the street down here.

Last nite a 4 wheeler crashed on cyrus ave. and i believe the rider broke his leg and was injured. I know who was riding that bike and i will not comment on him,however im 35 years old and i have been riding dirtbikes since im 8 yrs. old . I have told this young man and all of these other kids to ride backweeds because thats how we did it and never had a problem!
You guys need to stay off the streets because one day your gonna hurt someone else and then its only gonna get worse!!!
