Just in time for hurricane season GerritsenBeach.net is issuing a flood warning for residents of Eaton Court between Bartlett and Cyrus.
This lake (it is a lake), might blow the Frank Court lake right out of the water(ha!). It is just as large as Frank Court in terms of size and depth. You cannot walk or drive down this street for days after it rains without drenching your neighbor’s children, cars and homes. Oh! and the winter we just had?
Sorry Frank Court, Eaton Court has taken the crown…for now…

At least now they have a water view!

We now have copies of the exchange of correspondence between residents of Eaton Ct. and officials at DEP, DOT and Councilman Fidler, covering several years. As we prepare our argument on behalf of the flooded property owners throughout Gerritsen Beach, we can only assure you of one thing with certainty: Ray Schaefer is not building an Ark.

@,
Have you seen this: http://www.gerritsenbeach.net/2007/07/20/abandon-ship-canton-ct-is-sinking/
THE NEXT MEETING OF RESIDENTS AND OFFICIALS FROM DOT, DEP AND OUR REPRESENTATIVES, IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 26th at 12 (noon). WE WILL MEET AT FRANK CT. AND SEBA AVE.
PLEASE NOTE! THIS MEETING IS ABOUT YOU, THE PROPERTY OWNERS IN GERRITSEN BEACH. IF IT RAINS AND YOUR COURTS ARE FLOODED AGAIN, ODDS ARE, THE OFFICIALS WILL CANCEL AGAIN. THEY DON’T SEEM TO WANT TO BE SEEN WHEREVER WATER IS PRESENT ON THE COURTS AND AVENUES.

Well if it is sunny just make sure you open up the closest fire hydrants for about a half hour one hour before the meeting. :-)

Knowing that we’ve had recent re-pavings in and around the neighborhood already, why haven’t representatives insisted on a FULL survey of the old section? It is obviously in desperate need of our federal ‘shovel ready project’ money. It’s pathetic that the money will likely go for ‘improvements’ in other neighborhoods that don’t need it nearly as much.
