AK-47 Found on the Beach at Garland and Allen

IMG_0778

A real, unloaded, seaweed covered, AK-47 washed up on the shore of Garland Court and Allen Avenues. It was spotted then called in by the kids who play on that block.

The precinct responded to the situation and once it was determined that it was real the Emergency Service unit responded to handle the weapon.

Walking towards Knapp Street, I spotted a patrol car from the 61st Precinct and made a turn onto Garland Court, out of curiosity. Two young boys told me they had found an automatic rifle in the low tide. Officer Samulyn, from the 61st, made certain the boys were safely away, and proceeded to take the weapon from the low water and place it flat on the sand. I joined him at the water’s edge to get his name, and took a few pictures of the weapon. He had called Emergency Service, and they too arrived rapidly. They checked the weapon and found it to be empty, but real, not a toy. I thought for a moment I had a ‘scoop’, when, who showed up but Casey the Crime Photographer, and took the pictures above. The only differences in our stories is that, he described the weapon as being seaweed covered, and I know better. It looked like it was covered with wood chips to me.

This is the AK-47 assault rifle, the preferred weapon of your enemy. It makes a distinctive sound when fired at you. So remember it.

That’s not an AK-47, it’s a Hi-Point carbine comes in either 9mm or .40 cal. Still kill you though.

By the way most guns don’t float, so it’s hard for them to wash-up on shore.

Thanks for the proper i.d. of the weapon, I referred to it as an automatic weapon because I wasn’t sure. In response to the nitpicking, agreed most guns don’t float, so it was probably tossed into the creek close to where it was found. Nevertheless, currents and tides often move heavier objects. As for the Gunny Highway comment; laughter is good for adolescent constipation, give it a try.

Probably tossed or hidden by someone fleeing the authorities down this out-of-the-way stretch of road. Maybe one of those desperate enough to chance a late night swim under the circling lights above? Very much doubt it belongs to anyone in this neighborhood – I think most here are proud owners of their guns.

That’s what happens when your neighborhood gets flooded with Russians. They don’t ship out their star citizens.

ahhhh the russians,it must be nice to be able to sleep at night when your entire life is based on fraud, social security fraud, medical fraud, insurance fraud, money laundering fronts on every block, collecting government grants, food stamps, wic, and god knows what else while driving expensive cars and wearing designer clothing, no russian can ever tell me how proud they are, they are just bottom feeders who couldnt make it where they came from and our country lets them in and feed from the top while they stand on our shoulders with spiked boots on

The paranoia fear and ignorance is getting embarassing. Any pistol grip rifle now is an AK!!.
If a military weapon is discharged is an AK, if a crime was committed with a military looking weapon , is an AK, police in Florida were chasing a shooting suspect and according with the “informative” media they were carrying AK’s.
The confusion is great the ignorance is worse. I would like to see if a good man defending his family from intruders with an AK is vilified and charged with “shooting the bad AK” , or if a criminal assaults a bank with a Colt AR-15 or MP-5 (both used by our police forces) get lesser sentences or not being chased after at all because were carrying (good USA assault rifles), therefore mistaken by good guys.
