On the coldest day of the year so far, veterans and neighbors cheered the re-emergence of the Lundy’s Memorial Plaque at a ceremony held at the Sheepshead Bay Veteran’s Garden on Emmons Avenue.
Senator Marty Golden, whose office was responsible for the plaque being turned over to the custody of the SB/PBCA was on hand to officiate the ceremony honoring the plaque, and the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE THE LUNDYS PLAQUE TREATED WITH RESPECT. MY UNCLE BILLY WHO DIED IN IWO JIMA IS REMEMBERED ON THAT PLAQUE AND I THINK MY DADS NAME (PURPLE HEART WW II) IS ON IT ALSO. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS MY DAD STILL TEARS UP WHEN HE SPEAKS OF HIS BROTHER BILLY AND I KNOW HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO HIM. THANK YOU ALL FOR NOT LETTING THIS MEMORIAL PLAQUE BE TOSSED AWAY AND FOR GIVING IT THE RESPECT IT DESERVES.
