its basically used furniture for sale. I think he gets it from anywhere (trash??) and fixes it up and repaints or refinishes it. I have been in there, and he had some cute stuff. There are no clothes that i saw.

Actually, second hand stores are very trendy and popping up all over the place. There used to be one on the avenue a while back and it was awesome. So, lets not judge just yet and maybe lets try something different this time. Lets try to drum up some business instead so maybe there won’t be another vacant store on the avenue that looks “ghetto.”

A ghetto is described as a “portion of a city in which members of a minority group live especially because of social, legal, or economic pressure.” You hit the nail on the head.

Maybe if the rents for some of these stores weren’t so high they would be occupied.

It might look ghetto because of the graffiti on the security gate, but I say it fits right in.

My only concern is the bed bug problem that has been cropping up all over the city. If the store is “antiquing” (a.k.a. garbage picking) their goods, someone else’s bed bug problem might become ours.

My sister waged a war against bed bugs in her last apartment, so I’m wary about shopping at vintage furniture stores.
