Sheepshead bay is a total DISGRACE.What they allowed to happen to this area.Makes me sick.Next they will fill in the water and build condos right over to Manhattan beach.Sad end to what used to be a great place.

I agree that nothing should be done to alter the outside of the building. I presume the signage and awnings were taken down so that workmen could repair & paint the exterior walls. As far as the sidewalk, I think Senator Kruger is carrying things a bit too far. The tile work on the sidewalk looks great, and I am sure that the dilapidated concrete sidewalk is not protected under the Landmarks Commission status which covers the building. They probably stopped the contractor from finishing the sidewalk only because he did not have the proper building permit at the time of the work. I seriously doubt it had anything to do with being landmarked. It’s not as if the original sidewalk, which has no doubt been replaced many times over the years, was made of any special material other then common cement. Hopefully the signage & awnings will be re-installed soon to preserve the historic look of the building.

Kruger has to go. Vote him out. The building is dilapidated. Common sense should prevail, but not when Kruger is involved. The man is trying to start a business that will also improve the area. The person who posted at 2:39 hit the nail on the head.

Lundy’s is long gone. What is wrong with a tile sidewalk? This business is taking a chance on this neighborhood with all its food stamp russians, give them a break. Lundy’s just could not hack it anymore, we should not honor them, if anything they let us down.
