Join us on Saturday September 20th and Sunday September 21st at the Brooklyn Cyclone’s Keyspan Park in beautiful Coney Island for a two-day celebration of Irish heritage with great music, food, dancing, family activities and all around good craic.

The Great Irish Fair is a family-friendly event that attracts people from all over the metropolitan area.

Come by, listen to great Irish music, watch the continuous live entertainment and even enjoy a pint or two of Guinness! The cost of admission is $10 per person, $5 for children under 12, and all proceeds will be donated to support the Catholic Schools of the Brooklyn-Queens Diocese. —————————————————————————————————-

    Can you hear the bagpipes calling? The 28th annual Great Irish Fair of New York is slated for September 19 and 20 at KeySpan Park, Coney Island.

    The weekend of family fun runs both days10 a.m.-7:30 p.m., rain or shine, just like in Ireland!

    The festivities begin with a parade of bagpipers into the fairgrounds. Continuous entertainment on the main stage and in a cultural tent will include the great Andy Cooney, Jim O’Dea and his band, Unforgettable Fire, Celtic Cross, Jameson’s Revenge, The Screaming Orphans, The Canny Brothers Band, Emigrant Eyes, The Moonshines, MacTalla Mor and Ed Deacy.

    Vendors will be on hand displaying all manner of Irish goods from T-shirts to mementoes of the Emerald Isle, as well as great food and drink.

    This year’s Chief Brehon is Kevin Burke, chairman, president and CEO of Consolidated Edison, Inc. The Colleen Queen is Kerry Dineen of St. Saviour H.S., Park Slope. Martin Brennan, state director in the office of Senator Charles Schumer, will be presented witht the Thomas Cuite Award. Woman of the Year is Sister Margaret Dempsey, president of Catherine McAuley H.S. Msgr. Michael Hardiman will be the recipient of the Father Mychal Judge Award. Come to the fair to see these and others honored for their good works.

    Net profits from the fair will go to charity. Admission to The Great Irish Fair is $12 a person per day. The cost for families is $30 for two adults and their children Children under 12 are admitted free.
