Seba Avenue Park Has Been Fixed Up

Seba Avenue skate park has been fixed up, but for how long?

It looks as though on or around Thursday, July 24th, Seba Avenue Park was cleaned up by the Parks Department. Litter was removed and the graffiti was covered. That’s it. Thanks.

According to local skaters the park is falling apart. They absolutely hate the broken glass everywhere and usually clean it up themselves. The park has other problems, like major flooding and the “quarter bowl” (showed above) is slowly chipping away. The skaters also said they did everything they could possibly do with tricks in a month.

They also seem pretty annoyed that they only got half a skate park.

They should quit their bitchin and go get a job, or they could always go back to doing it guerrilla style in peoples pools and all that other fun stuff.

For years we had to sweep the glass off the handball courts to play paddle ball. We did not cry about it. It is a new generation.

This is true… it’s a generation that comes from parents who I have seen first hand at the property owners and town hall meetings asking the police to control their own kids. WHAT?? A swift kick in the a$$ from mom and or dad can go a long way. As for those cleaning up the problem… Good Job!!!
Hopefully parks can come up with a solution to the flooding prob.. that’s a tough one.

If they don’t like it, parks should shut it down. I am sure another community would love to have the skate park.

“Everything they can possibly do” is something someone with no tricks and/or creativity says. But the park is falling apart, I could care less. It is, however, unfair when they see a place like Owls Head being taken care of and redone etc. and we get stuck with a skatepark designed without any input from skateboarders themselves… it’s like building a ballfield with completely wrong measurements.

“Stuck with a skatepark” are you kidding me. Some people are never happy. This park would have made me and my friends so happy when we were little. The park 20 yrs ago didn’t even have swings on it.
