   I love to fly at rcsmp but hate to be harrassed by the motorcycles I have almost had a fist fight with an arrogant
   little @#$% you need to beef up security and put gates up to keep the motorcycles out and the people that belong on that area safe WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO PROTECT THE AREA “”"WHEN SOME ONE GETS KILLED”"” OH THEN IT WILL BE TO LATE BE PROACTIVE NOT REACTIVE HELP US

   I too fly radio control planes, and at time I have confronted the motorcylce riders but to no avail they just wait until we are gone and have a party. There must be something that we all could do as a community!!! Remember your children play there and safety is important!!

   TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
   AS A MEMBER OF THE FLYING FIELD ON SEBA AND GERRITSEN FOR THE LAST 15 YRS WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH VANDELS BEING DESTRUCTIVE AND VIOLENT TOWARDS US. WE HAVE BEEN PLAGUED FOR YEARS WITH MOTORCYCLE RIDERS DESTROYING THE SITE WE LOVE AND MAKE MANY EFFORTS TO KEEP CLEAN FOR THE COMMUNITY AND OURSELVES. CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH THE CLUB HAS SPENT OVER THE YEARS TO PRESERVE THIS SITE. WITH NO HELP FROM THE PARKS DEPT. OR THE NYPD TO PATROL OUR AREA . PLEASE SHOW SOME CONCERN .. HELP US OUT .. GIVE A DAMN !!!!!!

   Hi
   My name is Maria .. for years i have enjoyed the flying field on Gerritsen ave and Seba.. For years i have gone there with my husband and flew our model airplanes which we love very much.. Over the years i have seen the flying field being destroyed by vandels and motorcycles who seem to roam the area at will. They have free rein over the entire area with NO LAW IN SITE they destroy the facility and the grounds that many of us enjoy . The club has spent thousands of dollars to try to keep the area clean and safe for all of us to use. But to no avail. With NO POLICE present or Park dept presence the Vandels roam free.. PLEASE HELP US OUT WITH SOME SUPPORT FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL FLYING SITE !!!!

   Hello; I am a member of the “R.C.S.M.P.”Radio Control Society of Marine Park which has been flying model planes at the Gerreitsen Ave. and Seba Aves. for a very,very long time.
   The Parks Dept. has been gracious in repaving the current flying runway in an effort to enhanse the possible neighborhood participation in our sport.
   The club has spent much of its finances to isolate the runway from vandals,but in light of the newest upgrade to the Park, the parks Department has left many areas open where the vandals gain access to do their damage.
   It is very evident that the vandals are defacing the runway by riding several motorcycles through the skateboard park and ballfield for access to the flying field which are not licensed by the State.
   When members of the club arrive to fly their planes they are confronted by the motorcycle vandals who refuse to please leave and threaten and in one case have smashed the windshield of a members vehicle. They have burned stolen cars on the site also burning the wood from the viewing stand and the wooden tables.
   Please help! Francis

   Greetings,

   I am a member of the RCSMP flying club for about 10 years. I am flying during the week and on the weekends. But in the last 6 month I am scared to come to the site to fly alone. Motorcyclist becomes more aggressive and they usually come in the bands of 15-20 teens/man. They are drinking alcohol and smoking w….. using our runway for racing…..They are destroying the property: club property we spend money for and personal property. They are putting us (flyers) and themselves in danger when not clearing the roadway during fly-time and ignoring all the requests from club members. At least three times I was calling 911 for help, but only once patrol car came 1 hour later. IF SOMETHING BAD WILL HAPPEN, THAT MEANS WE WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY HELP FROM POLICE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BROOKLYN????!!!?!?!?!?! I also saw myself people in the parks uniform running bikes on our field, DO YOU REALLY THINK WE WILL GET HELP FROM THEM?????? There are a lot of people coming to the flying site with their kids to see the planes flying, to see our beautiful hobby, but they are usually runs away because motorbikes runs just next to their kids. It’s an accident waits to happen.. Please do something in advance, do not let someone gets hurt!!!!!

    It would of been more appropriate for you to email me at info@gerritsenbeach.net instead of commenting on this post.

    Im assuming something happened recently and someone told you or someone had the idea to come here. That’s great but we can organize better than spamming my comments.
