In case your not following the comments on Serious Motor Vehicle Accident Closes Knapp Street, there is an update worth mentioning.
The comments had a family member story and a first responder recount.
Family Member:
I’m related to the victim in this accident. He is a NYC police Officer. Just graduated in December. He is in his early 20’s about 24. He was riding in the left lane down Knapp street when a motor vehicle who was in the right lane cut him off and made an illegal left. The car cut right in front of him and he went right into the back of the car. It happened so fast he had no time to step on the brakes. He was wearing his helmet. It was NOT a fatal accident. He is in an induced coma at the hospital. He has swelling in his brain and long list of bodily injuries. As of now he is fighting for his with the police department and family by his side. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He really needs them.
First Responder:
My brother and I who grew up in the area and now live in Rhode Island and New Hampshire were driving by. We saw the scene and people were just standing by. We stopped as we are both firefighters and my brother is a first responder. My brother grabbed his first aid bag and we offered whatever assistance we could for the victim. His father was with him. Fire department and EMS arrived shortly thereafter at which point we left. We hope he recovers and he is on our thoughts.

My prayers are with the family. I loss my son on may 25, 07 in GB also in a motor cycle accident. So i know how you guys feel. Today i met someone in front of my son memorial site that gave me his condolences which made me feel at ease cause i thought that maybe i would have been in his shoes just waiting if his son would wake up. I would pray to God for your loved one too get better. Im so sorry for what you going threw. May God Bless you.

To bad the 61st has no power over your memorial or even if I or someone else removed your memorial.
You however are without police powers but im sure that if something happens to me the civilian complaint review board would love to hear the Solovian family is threatening people with their police powers.
