An attack, robbery and carjacking of a teacher at Good Shepherd School has caused community alarm, and the police are investigating whether the incident is part of a larger pattern of assaults and thefts.
A female teacher was accosted at 6:30 in the morning on Tuesday as she arrived at the school, on Brown Street and Avenue S. The attacker punched her in the face and stole her purse, then came back moments later and stole her car. The teacher was hospitalized for her injuries, but released the same day. The injury left her unable to speak and give a description.
Why all the secrecy about the description of the perpetrator. Are we now supposed to be suspiciuos of all “male” individuals. Based on where they found the victim’s vehicle, it does not take a degree in criminology to determine that this sub-human thug is apparently a resident of the crime-ridden Sheepshead-Nostrand Housing Projects. Perhaps a crackdown by our local precinct on the illegal activities that take place there on a daily basis would send a message that ours is a community that obeys the law, and lawlessness will not be tolerated. Let’s not forget, it was a similar crackdown on so called “quality of life” infractions that led to the astounding drop in the city’s crime rate, so let’s have at it. The sooner our brave NYPD erradicates the criminal element among us, the better life will be for the law abiding residents of the housing projects and the community at large.

Concerned neighbor, did u go the the meeting that your local precinct had tonight? Did u ask them you a crack down on the illegal activities taking place by these sub human thugs? My guess would be “NO”. But you want the brave NYPD to erradicate the criminal elements? You think coming on here and telling them what they should do will help? They don’t read this shit. Go to the meetings and voice your opinion and state your concerns.

I have to say that as an ‘insider’ we read this everyday.
this site does a good thing for the entire community and you might not realize it yet.
The 61, 63, golden, fidler, and city council ALL read this site and it scares them. You as a citizen get news much faster and without filters.

To Johnson, your general point is a good one. As you state, many people complain about situations but take no action to get involved. I do however make it a point to attend the Community Council meetings when I do not have family or work obligations. I am also fortunate to belong to a large family that boasts a number of police officers over three generations, so I am lucky enough to to have an ever present opportunity to support and interact with many NYPD officers, some of whom hold positions at the highest levels within the department. So troubling was the news of this attack, that I immediately reached out to these individuals to implore that every effort must be undertaken to apprehend this lowlife criminal. So when it comes down to it we do seem to share the same belief, that we as a community must be informed & involved if we want to keep our neighborhood safe.

I do think that this crime is disgusting, I think that it is more disgusting that it was only mentioned on Channel 12 news. I bet you if it wasn’t a white catholic neighborhood then it was have made front page and there would be cops outside the school protecting the neighbors.

I guess I won’t hold my breath waiting for Senator John Conyers to come rushing to NY to hold a press conference demanding that this mugging, carjacking, dirtbag be charged with federal civil rights charges for violating this teacher’s right to come to work without being attacked, beaten, and robbed. Perhaps she will be offered some monetary payments from the National Action Network to tide her over while she is out of work waiting for her injuries to heal? I think not.
