On Saturday, May 17th, three Girl Scouts from Gerritsen Beach were honored by Andra Douglas, owner of the New York Shark’s women’s football team at Floyd Bennett Field, next to the Aviator Sports Complex. The girls were given youth sized footballs, they took photos with team members & got autographs signed at their after party. Although the Sharks lost that game to the Boston Militia, we are hoping they will win on June 7th when they play against D.C. Divas. Junior Girl Scout Troop # 2053 would like to thank all their customers who purchased Cookies from them this year. With the rebate money they earned, the girls decided to take a trip over to the Jamaica Bay Riding Academy to complete the requirements for their “Horse Fan” badge.
