I live on the Bay and although I’m Russian I speak perfect English. Lets not get too hysterical – must Russians speak English very well, otherwise how would they be able to maintain high paying jobs that let them pay the big dollars for the condos that you so despise.

I personally am an American born, Brooklyn/Sheepshead Bay raised Russian-American, And honestly most of you need to stop spewing the verbal diarea that comes out of your mouth! All I see as of late is haters who honest to god need to wake up.. I personally am a real estate broker (not an agent) and no I don't work for Wilk, But I can tell you one thing.. You are the reason the Russian Community refuses to full integrate! Before Russians grabbed the bull by the horns in this area all of your properties were worth dirt! The fact that its becoming harder and harder to afford living in this are is not anyone's fault but your own. Instead of spending so much time hating on Russians who not only increased your property value, but gave you a diverse strip that arguably might be one of the few places in Brooklyn worth mentioning, Who poured money, sweat, blood and tears into an area that years ago people were almost giving their properties away in just to sell them. Maybe you should spend half that time looking for work that would match the lifestyle literally handed to you, or maybe just maybe go and try to pursue an education that would put you in a better financial situation, so you wouldn't have to hate on and complain about the big bad Russians who ruined this area so bad with their over developing that it made your 200k house shoot into the near million if not over million price range. The voice of this community board doesn't and wont represent the voice of the people in this area, Because it represents a very small fraction of people who still some how feel robbed of something.. Really open your eyes!! Look around you, you can now safely walk the streets at night because the riff-raff can't afford to live here, during peak market you could have sold your property and actually made money on it unlike many other area's, on a weekend night you now have places you can go to eat and drink and party without worrying that some punk with a little to much beer in his system will grab on your girlfriend/wife or will break a bottle on your head. Why because the Russians did and keep doing what none of you were ever able to do, Clean this area up! Before the Russians you wouldn't get out of your car on Brighton Beach, You couldn't give away the largest house on Manhattan Beach, and the Emmons side was plagued by Bums, Drunks, and fishermen who spent way to much time out in the water. Today you have people who conduct themselves with proper decorum, Business is booming, you have three of the richest area's in Brooklyn with some of the best real estate value, You have a commercial street (Sheepshead Bay Rd.) that is exploding and has more foot traffic then pretty much any area of Brooklyn, You have a Strip that is booming (Emmons Ave.), You have a market place (Brighton Beach Ave.) that brings you some of the freshes products you can find on the East Coast, And last but not least on the most part its safe! So really give credit were credit is due! stop hating on the people who gave you an amazing lifestyle, stop pointing at people who never did anything wrong to you other then help you grow the area that you call home, and lastly stop stunting the growth that gave you everything you take for granted!!

PS: And really stop calling Russians, Mafiosos!! Honestly its insulting, childish, and misguided.. The Russians in this area are doctors, lawyers, & business men just like yourself only difference is they aren't content with average lives and literally kill themselves to achieve all the things you hate them for! So in closing support your local Russian Business as they have supported you for so many years while dealing with your brainless none-sense, hatred and immaturity…
