It was a hit and run, I got to the scene couple minutes after it happened and I heard the school guard saying that it was a hit and run. I just hope they catch that person that ran away.

    R.I.P
    My condolences to the family

On August 24th, 2004 I lost a stepson. He was on his motorcycle not more than 7 blocks from home, a car was speeding as he was trying to beat the light, he never saw Jose coming. My condolences and heartfelt prayers go out to the family.

As i left lmg hs and i was walking home i saw the motorcyle in a horrific state on Irwin street meanwhile cops investigating and taking pictures- blood on the scene and a shoe leftover was all i saw of this hit and run victim. two students had seen the accident happen and immediately called 911 informing the tradegy. Today as i was on the bus on ym way to school the bus driver had mentioned this accident stating that the victim had been creamed under that suv that had hit him while he had most likely been speeding, hence taking his life on the spot even with the help of aids atempting to pump him back to life it was the end for this 24 year old student at kingsborough community college. All thoughts and prayers to the family, your loss has shocked us all.

Thats what happens when you ride a Motorcycle outside the campus at 70 mph. Maybe if people don’t think “Gee I have this nifty new motorcycle that can do 120MPH, maybe i should see how fast I can go down Oriental blvd.”

You are right Sexton. The motorcycle riders are out of control. The police need to crack down on them.

My condolences go to his loved ones….I can’t imagine the pain.
I saw the boy lifeless on the ground, missing a shoe, and his bike in pieces, the paramedics hadn’t arrived yet….and as I pulled out of the school parking lot, prayed that his soul be in Gods hands. I wasn’t sure at the time, but as I drove to school today and saw the small memorial, I knew he was no longer with us. May he RIP.

I believe that he was still alive for a short time after the crash. I had seen him on the ground and there was a woman at his side trying to console him. I believe i saw him breathing and even talking. I didn’t find out until today that he had died.

I wish to extend my condolences to his family.

    E was a Nice Boy.
    But let me say

You should have seen that sunrise with your own eyes
It brought me back to life
Youll be with me next time I go outside
    Just no more 3x5s

Guess you had to be there
Guess you had to be with me

    Today I finally overcame
Tryin to fit the world inside a picture frame
Maybe I will tell you all about it when Im in the mood to
Lose my way but let me say

How am I a dick?? I feel terrible for this kids family. I know what its like to lose someone very close to you. But all that aside this is the second time I have seen someone die while riding their motorcycle recklessly. Just because it wasn’t an accident doesn’t mean it was not his fault. If he exhibited just a small bit of caution and obeyed the speed limit we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.

why the accident wasn’t on the news?

  17. Anon says:

Its not news, accidents happen all the time because they are too busy talking on cell phones, tuning the radio, texting, talking or speeding, etc. Motorcycles are also known as donorcycles. There isn’t much chance of survival. We take a risk doing these things in cars everyday and when we crash we call it an “accident”, its not.

Sexton, you are a dick because if this guy was your brother or son you NEVER would have made your above comments.

So many people dont know what happened, yet post false info. He was 22, riding a blue Yamaha R6. He was speeding at about 70 mph, slammed his breaks, locked the rear wheel (left tire marks) and collided with a vehicle driven by an elderly man atleast in his 60′s. The man did not flee. Seemed like a good man, but old. The combination of him probably not watching traffic too well, and the rider speeding, maximized the risk for the young man and cost him his life. The investigating detective was going to conduct break tests and such on the man’s vehicle. I was there, and spoke to these people. I was acquainted with the rider. We spoke about bikes after I saw him park his bike next to mine. I believe he had it for a little over a month and was new to riding. He was a nice guy. It’s a shame. Unfortunately the temptation of testing the vehicle’s pottential got him. I love bikes, but hate that it’s so dangerous. We know the risks involved when we get on…but it’s the hardest for close ones to endure the outcome of our choices. My condolences to the family. I’m sorry for their loss.

i go to kcc n i see people speeding all the time and the cops dont do nothing about it. they should not be speeding because people are walking around there all the time.

If you go to KCC and see people speeding and walking around there all the time do you see a connection here? Maybe the KCC students need to slow down and watch where they are crossing. I’m sure they will be the first ones knocking the cops for picking on KCC students when they start giving out speeding tickets.

Sexton Hardcastle is the lion king of dicks! Regardless of what happened someone has lost their life and we all need to respect that no matter what and show condolence to the Ozcan’s family, friends and loved one’s. Everyone gets into an accident in their lives at least once or twice is just that we never expect it to be fatal. It is hard to accept the fact but it is reality. We can only hope that time should heal even though he will always be remembered deep down in our hearts. R.I.P…

Ozcan was a really nice person. He was kind, respectful, and always joyfull. He came from a very caring family. His parents, his brother and his friends are devastated. He was loved very much. He left us so soon but he will always be in our hearts and be remembered. Each year almost 5,000 people die from motorcylce accidents. When you look at the statistics it doesn’t mean a lot to people but when they loose someone close to them thats when it smacks you in the face.

On the memorial it says his name was Eugene… who’s name is Ozcan then? From his picture he seemed sweet and cute. Its so sad. He was so young. His motorcycle pieces are still scattered all over the streets. I think I remember him. How sad that we never get to know people around us and then one day the chance is gone.

So your trying to tell me that no matter what someone does even if it is their fault we should disregard that and just say, “oh it wasnt his fault it was a hit and run. Why did that happen to him?,” and all that other junk. If a drunk driver speeds down the road and smashes into a car stopped at a red light, and gets himself killed and hurts other people do you feel sorry for him too. I already said that I feel sorry for his family, but I also said that if he was a little less careless he wouldn’t have put that burden on his family.

Hey Everyone. I’m writing an article on what happened for the Kingsborough paper “Scepter.” I would appreciate it if some of you were willing to leave a comment or to on what you saw. Also for those of you who knew him, this could be a way of letting other students on the campus know more about him.
Please leave your full name (don’t worry i’m not an identity thief) and comment at mdakarider@hotmail.com. I’m writing the article over the weekend.
    Thanks.

    Hey all,

My friend and I were driving down oriental when we saw something in the road…that’s when we saw the motorcycle and the body laying on the street, we immediately pulled over, to help but the security, two witnesses, and the old man driving the car that was hit were already calling the paramedics. It was a horrendous sight, seeing this boys lifeless body laying in the middle of the street. I saw the paramedics try to revive him, but he didn’t respond. I hoped he would make it. I didn’t even know he had passed away until Monday when I came into school. I don’t condone speeding nor do I think it’s ok to speed, but the fact is a young soul’s life was lost, and the best way to think about the situation is that he is in a better place. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends, and may his soul rest in peace.

Bad things happen to good people. It is very sad to see such a young life taken away. The best thing to do right now is not to remember how he died, but how he lived and wish his family comfort and some privacy.
