These guys were using their jackets to catch the wind to sail down the avenue. It looked they were having fun, until they noticed me driving down the center at them with a camera pointed right at them.
Yes, green streets would of solved this problem, however, just in case you didn’t know, Green Streets is dead and its not coming back. With spring weather arriving, Seba avenue park is going to be packed, the avenue is going to be more crowded with children skating and on bikes.
I do have a solution, everyone needs to follow the speed limit! Wow what a concept, and its not even that hard to do! You can get to from the Point to Avenue W in 3 minutes 30 seconds doing 25 MPH. I have close to a dozen pictures of people passing me, some while people were standing on the median. One fatality and I see green streets back on the DOT table for resurrection and we wont have a say, it will just happen.

Do you think taking pictures while driving is the safest thing to do?
I think I might pass you too if the car ahead of me was driving 25mph with one hand on the steering wheel, one eye on the road and the other fiddling with his camera. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.
I’m sure on some Sk8ter website, there’s an outraged poster commenting on a picture of you trying to mow down 3 kids skateboarding.
I guess it’s all about perspective.

touché, but its not that hard, and 25 is completely manageable to be fiddling around and still be safe.
Ive done and have seen worse at much faster speeds.
Well being that green streets is dead how about a skateboarding lane? Right down the middle of the Ave and as we are driving by 25mph we could offer them a cold drink.

Are you kidding me!!! Taking a picture while driving 25mph is still very dangerous and stupid. How fast were you going when you followed the kids on Gerritsen? Do you realize that you were driving in the center median and yet complain that someone passed you while fiddling with a camera. I’d go around you too, you’re going to cause an accident, I want to be as far away from you as possible. Enough Hypocrisy!

I think he was in the correct lane doing the correct speeding limit and the guy who was in a RUSH was in the center lane. Its very simple people, OBEY the laws. Drive the limit that is posted!

It all sounds good, but as always, there will be people who will follow the speed limit and those who wont, you just have to hope that you or your family isnt around when an accident happens, I have seen numerous occasions where some one drives around a car into the center lane to pass them and I do not expect it ot stop anytime soon, a main reason why I stick to the courts when I exit the area. and I have to agree with some other posters, driving and picture taking, much like driving and texting, dont mix

Friday afternoon with school letting out I was driving out of the beach & this kind, considerate moron on a cell phone was up my butt at the light by 277. Since there was the normal traffic, a woman(maybe a teacher, there was no child) walked in front of my car to cross, the moron on the phone just missed rear ending me. He continued this behavior on Ave W. Whne he passed me on the left at the light, I showed my frustration & tried to dirve up gerritsen but Mr. Manners decided to play games & drove in the middle of both lanes starting & stopping all the way up to Resurection where he then took off.
I do not always drive 25 but when the children & people are crazy getting out of school, I try to not kill anyone.
This moron, who was in such a hurry to get wherever while on a very improtant phone call, should feel very proud trying to intimidate a woman by being a bully & definately almost causing several accidents. I truly hope he made it to wherever safely.

They will be putting up traffic lights 3/4 of the way down to the bus loop. Reason being, the city accepted money from the federal government, something to do with schools and the paved width of the road.
