At the March Property Owners meeting, Lew Fidler showed the designs for Phase II (bathroom) for Seba Avenue Park
It will have a Mens and Womans bathroom, that would be locked at dusk, and it will have a maintainance room.

Doesnt anyone learn that you can’t have anything nice in the beach? These kids are trash!! Sure when we were kids we hung out in the park and the handball courts but we NEVER destroyed anything!! Where are the parents when these kids are up there drinking and smoking pot all night?

Wow dont know when you grew up but in the late 60;s early 70′s It was bad . Restoration stopped they dance’s because of fighting , the handball courts were fields of broken beer bottles most people didn’t feel safe walking down the ave at night . Seba park was called glass park . forget about getting near the pizza place or old Dutch . Cars raced up and down the ave . one summer a motor cycle gage tried to take over the ave . I don’t care what any one say’s Gerritsen beach has always had its wild side . Don’t get me wrong I’m not defending these kids nor am I am saying Gerritsen beach is a bad place to live . Its a great place with great people but we have to stop turning a blind eye to the past . If none of this sounds familiar to you , I’m not surprised at all . The ave and aster court got it the worst , bevy court got some, but if you asked anyone on Celeste court of further , they never heard a thing . It was the same thing in the old section Abby court got it all . Its time we stop blaming these kids and asking where’s their parents . We’re their parents ,and their uncles ,aunts cousins and Grandparents . We are not a bunch of strangers , we are a community and should act that way and until we do , we will be stepped on by those kid’s , the park dept , the police dept and the politicians . I’m sorry to have gotten off the subject which was bathroom . But its like someone els said on this site it time to do something or shut up . I would suggest we do something .

Another waste of tax payers dollars, they will trash it as they trash everything else in this neighborhood. Not worth it, I can see them using it like a hotel room. They use the bus shelters as no tell motels, you wouldn’t believe what you see sometimes late at night. All you need is the bad 70′s music in the background and ta da, instant porn.

OK anonymous, what is your suggestion, I have been reading all sorts of whiny crap on this site but no one seams to want to step up. I speak to as many kids as I can to fill them in on the importance of keeping the place they live in clean and secure, as the sign says (WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER). I go up to the fields, sit with them, and try to leave an impression on them to clean up their mess after they hang out, some do and some don’t, but a positive message is being left with the kids who do care. There is nowhere for these kids to go or to do anything. Please fill us in on your plans to do something.

The qualiy inn in front of windjammer seems to be the only legit motel in the area.
Do not stay at golden gate or best western and of course windjjammer is only good for short stays

This whole skate park thing is a problem just waiting to happen. I think it is great for the kids and I realize it was built with only the best intentions, but just wait for fights to start , wait till some of our kids want to skate and kids from outside the beach also want it for themselves along withthere friends..what do you think will happen, flip a coin maybe???? I see kids leave the skate park at dark and go back into the weeds this is a regular thing not only beach kids but other kids what happens when they meet up…. It would be great if everyone got along but everyone knows there are trouble makers ( and NO not only kids in the beach!!) even though some people won’t admit it other kids DO come into the beach and DO start trouble. Lets just hope no one gets really hurt this summer.
I have an idea why not check out what goes on a few blocks away in the projects on Friday &
Saturday nights try checking your scanners. ( shootings,fights etc) It,s just a matter of time… OHHH and how about the bathrooms, what a joke may as well charge by the hour…

The last I heard Headso went to California, and Dutch moved Upstate, not sure about Brillo. Anyone else know about Park End? They used to hang out on Gerr Ave I think near Seba in the seventies.
