Is it worth it to park in the center of the avenue and blocking a turning lane to take a picture of your own parked truck? Maybe green streets is just park vehicles parked down the center of the avenue.

The park dept is the first to point a finger when it benefits them . Why shouldn’t they be held up to their own high standards . If a delivery truck is park inside the yellow line , he runs the risk of getting a ticket because after all its wrong . But when a law enforcement agency which these park employee are does it for their own amusement that’s abuse of power and someone should be looking into that .

if a cop is driving by and see’s a double parked car, they should give them a ticket, there just too lazy. and the parks department needs to be put in there place, we don’t need them here, and everyone would be happier if GBcares went back to taking care of the feilds, at least when they did it, stuff got done. gbcares actually cleaned the feilds, and put them to use, the parkies just hand out tickets and dont lift a finger to clean anything.

Your right they do nothing , nothing but show their contempt for the people who live here . Summer isn’t even here yet and already the problems have started . The yellow buses block off Gerritsen ave trying to make a u turn rather then making the turn at the end . They double park on the park side while they drop off kids that use our tree’s as bathroom and throw there trash all over the ave . The older ones are just as worse . not only do they use the trees the same way but have no shame sitting on the edge of their car trunks with the music blasting while the change into their uniforms . any garbage that they don’t want in Marine park they send here . IT has to stop we are not a garbage dump for the park dept problems .

Are you going to the community meetings stating your so called facts or just coming on here to get it off ur chest? If they are indeed doing this you should call and report it to the officials, a little more action on everyones part and a little less finger pointing goes a long way. And if u get parking tickets for double parking, oh well. Just remember not to do anything wrong yourself, karma is a b*tch.

Aaron I don’t know if your comment was directed to me , but if it was , what i said is that if we double park we all take a chance . I’ve parked in a bus stop . sometimes I get caught sometimes I didn’t . sometimes the cop is nice enough to get on the loud speaker and say move the vehicle . But I don’t bitch about it , I just pay it . If you were at some of the community meetings last year , who might of heard several people including members of the court club and Gerritsen beach cares complain about the condition of the fields and people using the trees as bathrooms . If you were there but didn’t hear it that’s no surprise. It didn’t get the voice of green street but then again how many people really care about the fields . I have on many, many , many occasions called the park police . not once did they show . one time I was told that there was no car’s in the area when I could see on parked on the field . your suggestions are good and if we lived in another area of brooklyn they might work , but when it comes to Gerritsen beach . The park Dept just don’t care . and when it comes to really doing anything , its like they say Its Gerritsen beach to the rescue .

Just one dumb question, are ALL the people who double park in front of the stores buying beer & cigarettes?
I shop on the Ave & see people buying cold cuts, newspapers, coffe etc. & SOMETIMES they are parked illegally.
Yes, I have parked too close to a hydrant & yes, I was ticketed & paid the fine for being to lazy to park across the street (it was raining) & parked a little too close, did not block but close. Did not even considerdtrying to fight it. I WAS WRONG.

OK so let me get this stright .We only buy beer and cig and they have the hight’s tax’s . we’re using our cars to go get them so now we’re using up gas which we all know is highly taxed . On top of that we’re paying the parking ticketts . Since we are giving all this money to the goverment don’t you think we should have reserved parking ?

I kind of think we got off track of the issue guys, heeeelllloooo! Who cares what you are buying while double parked? What difference does it make? Selfish is selfish and that is what you are when you double park and block the street, regardless of what your purchases are. It means you are a pig either buying cold cuts or milk or beer.
If they are buying cigarettes and beer it means they are revving up for crashing into poles for the night. and taking out innocent people’s cars, fences, etc., I guess if you throw some crack in that is the concoction you will need

I had no idea that buying cigarettes & beer meant revving up for crashing into poles & taking innocent people’s property. I assumed some people equate cigarettes & beer with crack & heroin & wow I was right.
Cigarettes & beer do not automatically make you a low life drunk driver & drug abuser.
It also does not make you double park. I have seen very respectable church going people double park. The lack of parking spots on the avenue causes double parking. Except for the creepy people (I guess beer drinker & smokers) who double park right next to an open spot. That is really annoying
