(Previous Post: Holy Crap, Kiddie Beach Water, Takes a Turn for the Worse)
The reading taken on the 4th and the high presence of enterococci does not indicate a public health threat. Many factors can affect readings. Rainwater runoff, waterfowl and tidal action can cause high results that nature will fix in a day or two.
Here is the strange thing…
The Department of Health has changed their sample bacteria counts taken on August 4 at Kiddie Beach. Why?

After (Screen shot taken 8/09/2007)

The Department of Health also seems to be able to travel to the future in time and bring back samples. They have posted their samples for August 11th and as of this post, todays date is August 9th. The Department of Health tests every Monday and the results come back on Wednesday. They didn’t go into the future they just used the term “Week Ending” in their chart. The last sample from kiddie beach was taken on Monday the 6th and represents the week ending the 11th.
The only reason why we posted about the water quality at kiddie beach was becuase of the information provided by the department of health. Is it a mass conspiracy to cover up high numbers? Was it a mistake?
With yesterdays heavy rains, the water off of kiddie beach is under a Wet Weather Advisory. Swimming or bathing is not recommended for 72 hours after the rainfall.
Department of Health Kiddie Beach Water Quality
Update:
When such a high level of enterococci bacteria is detected, the Department of Health comes back a second time to make sure that there is not a problem.
Conspiracy ended, but they shouldn’t take the test information down off of their site.
To compare the water quality inspections to the restaurant inspections, those reports never come down, if a restaurant fails they go back and retest and both reports remain on the site.
If those high numbers come within the 72 hour advisory of rainfall, that should give swimmers some pause before jumping in after some rain.

I noticed the same thing also…
they will lie about the numbers. Post dates that are in the future, and put crazy numbers that make no sence….check out this set of numbers….go to this web site and look at the date 6/26/07 :http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/beach/beach-bx.shtml
the numbers are all lies….
