All but till now the Coney Island development plans from Thorr Equities always had housing in it. A 500 foot glass tower to be a bit more accurate. Now, Developer Joe Sitt & Thor Equities are “shelving plans to build housing in Coney Island and will go ahead with his redevelopment plan as a mix of amusements and retail”

After listening to the comments, questions and concerns of members of the Coney Island community, as well as people all over the country and throughout the world, Thor Equities has completely eliminated the residential component of its proposed plan. Thor will instead focus on amusement and entertainment uses worthy of Coney Island’s spectacular legacy.
Thor now has a plan that is compatible with the City’s strategic plan and looks forward to working with the community and the City to return Coney Island to its former glory.

I wonder what they are thinking about putting here now. It has been six months since we have heard from the developer.

Any news as to what is going to actually be developed…I have not heard anything for more than four months? I grew up in Coney Island….many years ago! Would like it returned to all of its glory!

Thor equities has been ruining Coney Island for almost 3 years now. Unless he sells Astroland’s land back BY DECEMBER 25TH, I will have no choice but to start a cyber war against Thor Equities and The Coney Island Development Corporation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thor Equities has been ruining Coney bit by bit. If he does NOT sell back The Astroland and Shoot The Freak land, Coney will NOT be the intresting place it was!!!!!!!
