www.gerritsenbeachmemories.com is a site dedicated to the memories of gerritsen beach. At the beginning of the summer of 2006 it declared that it was “taking a break”.

  • What kind of site shuns its user base away?
  • What kind of site doesnt allow its own users to create a buzz about its site?
  • If it was a question of moderation. Why not let its users moderate themselves?
  • The only reason to take a break would be to upgrade the site. I dont see that happening. Their board is 7 years old.

In the short time gerritsenbeach.net has been live.

  • There are a dozen email subscriptions.
  • Dozens of unique hits a day.
  • We have climbed to #12 in google
  • We are also climbing in MSN and Yahoo

Forgetful memories : Don’t hate. The site was run by a very nice women who kept people that moved out of the area in touch with others that still live here. These are two different sites and both have its place on the net. It’s like comparing the VW Post to a new club opening up. Promote the shit out this thing, but major respect is due to gerritsenbeachmemories.

Yeah. I agree major respect is due. I do respect the site. It does have its place on the internet.

Now though, it might be the beginning of the end for memories. The site hasen’t been updated since god knows how long and the board is still down. Thats bad.

I plan on promoting the shit out of this site. :)

  • Site looks great, we needed something like this, and since it Gerritsen Beach memories looks dead (why shut down the message board if it was just a vacation), so far, you got a good thing going here. There’s a Gerritsen Beach group on myspace, but it doesn’t seem very active.
